Teacher Training for the Educational Use of Information and Communication Technologies Bencomo Vásquez, Pablo Orencio ABSTRACT Today, virtuality makes it possible to reach new students, with new tastes and interests, and teachers cannot be relegated to it. The demand that arises is then, to explore the new possibilities that allow for assisted education in network, experience that has enriched the way to see the world, culture and society and leads to reflect on the great responsibility that today is held to students in their formative process and society. The virtual teacher must be a specialist in the field of study at the theoretical, practical, epistemological, methodological and technical levels. Its main functions will be to guide, stimulate and collaborate with the student in his learning process, in addition to evaluating his obtained results, in relation to a specific subject or specific knowledge. Through constant guidance and monitoring, the teacher has as one of his objectives, to offer the student tools and guides that help him to develop his own learning process, while attending to your doubts and needs. The teacher will also cease to be the source of information, to become a facilitator of learning, changing his role as a teacher in class time, to be a guide or a partner in the whole training process, directing the student through materials, debates, forums, cases and simulations that are reflected in a continuous evaluation of the activities carried out individually or in groups, supported by numerous electronic tools provided by Virtual Learning Environments. According to the profile of the student in their classrooms, the teacher must direct his educational work and use new strategies that allow him to accompany each student, in a personalized way, in the achievement of his learning objectives, providing its pupils with the experiences and knowledge they previously have from their professional performance and intellectual background, seeking to induce the student into a reality or directly in the application of theoretical knowledge in everyday doing.
