UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
UPEI’s requirements for undergraduate admissions apply to all undergraduate programs.
CANADIAN
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Arts and Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies
70% minimum cumulative average in five Grade 12 academic subjects including English + one language/social studies + three courses from any academic area.
Business
70% minimum cumulative average in five Grade 12 academic subjects including English + math + any two courses from social sciences/sciences/ language + one course from any academic area.
Nursing 65% minimum in each subject with 70% cumulative average in five Grade 12 academic subjects including English + math (pre-calculus and/or calculus is recommended) + chemistry + biology + one course from any academic area + successful completion of Casper test.
Note: Admission to the UPEI Nursing program is very competitive; posted requirements represent minimum expectations.
Science
70% minimum cumulative average in five Grade 12 academic subjects including English + math (pre-calculus and/or calculus is recommended) + two science subjects (must be chemistry and biology for Kinesiology program) + one course from any academic area.
Sustainable Design Engineering 65% minimum in each subject with 70% minimum cumulative average in five grade 12 academic subjects including English, math (pre-calculus and/or calculus is recommended) + two science subjects + one course from any academic area.
FYI: Some introductory courses at UPEI have high school prerequisites: Biology 1310 does not require grade 11 or 12 biology, but both are encouraged; Chemistry 1110 requires at least academic grade 12 chemistry; Physics 1110 does not require grade 11 or 12 physics, but both are encouraged; Math 1910 requires at least academic grade 12 math.
