CoEng flaunts musical forte

In the Celebrity Trio Category participated by faculty members of each department, ECE nabbed first place, leaving ME and CE, respectively in the next two places.

Furthermore, witty, creative and humorous commercial spoofs gave crowds loads of laughter, and CE ends up being the first placer, EE ties with ECE as second placers, and ME bagging the third place.

Jam-worthy songs and amazing grooves made the crowd their loudest shouts as the Musical Contests convened in the University Gymnasium today, October 4.

Six categories were witnessed: the Vocal Solo, Vocal Duet, Celebrity Trio, MTV, HipHop,

and the Commercial Spoofs competition of each department were presented.

Singers unleashed their lyrical prowess in the Vocal Solo category, with Benz Ashley Apilado of the ECE department bagging the first place and CpE’s Andrea Gerard Flores and CE’s

Governor’s Remarks

Christian Gevero claiming second and third places.

Timing and connections were tested among duo singers in the Vocal Duet category with which the Civil, Mechanical, and Computer Engineering departments placing in the first three podium spots, respectively.

Flashes of creative choreography were observed between performers in the MTV category, with CE claiming first place, putting CpE and EE in second and third places.

Awesome in-sync performances, meanwhile, were the main battle basis between group dancers in the HipHop category, with CE clinching the first place, EE winning second place, and ME claiming third place.

Tigers’ literary expertise unveils

“As we embark on this journey of creativity and innovation, I encourage each of you to embrace the spirit of collaboration and most importantly enjoy the rocess of bringing words and melodies into life and that this event will be a reminder that Engineering is not only just about calculations. It is about shaping a better world with science and art. I am excited to witness brilliance and creativity that will unfold before us today.”

Excitement charged the Tigers from various departments as they joined in the “Literary Musical Competition” organized by the Engineering Student Council at the University Gymnasium today, October 5.

The event was composed of various Literary events

such as Impromptu Speaking (English and Filipino), Spoken word Poetry (Filipino), and Oration.

Here are the results of the aforementioned events:

Impromptu (English)

1st: EESO Jan Denbert

“Para sa ’kon, ang advantage gid namon is ang mga supporters, kay since damo may gasupport sa ’mon, daw mas gakaganahan kami. Gaka-encourage kami nga i-push amon very best para magdaog. Gladly, napakita man gid namon ang amon best gid kagina,” Nicole Mediogarin, one of CE’s MTV performers expressed on what made them stand out in the said event.*
