ALUMNI HIGHLIGHTS
Just two years ago, thanks to the support of Lee Denker, we established the Project Achieve Alumni group.
We started with less than 20 active members, and we now have quadrupled that number, with word of mouth continuing to increase the ranks. The group’s initial vision was to do three things:

1. Work together to continue their experience established as undergraduates to support the community through service.
2. Mentor current project achieve students. Support.
3. Share their gifts with each other.
This vision continues to guide their efforts and successes. We were heartened that our alumni have stepped up to answer the call to service, and this year firmly cemented the tradition of working side by side with Project Achieve undergraduates to help St. Peters Church prepare a Thanksgiving feast for homeless men, women, and families in Omaha. This sharing has worked in other ways, as alumni volunteered to help as judges for a science fair established at a local elementary school, routinely share job information, professional development, and community and other events. At each quarterly meeting, they freely share their hopes, ideas, experiences, and knowledge with each other.
This year, Project Achieve alumni expanded their vision, adding a fourth goal: to raise funds for Project Achieve seniors’ caps and gowns for commencement ceremonies . Though all alumni have supported this vision, special thanks are due to those who have spearheaded it: Silvester Juanes, Curtis Johnson, Samantha Quitl, and Bianca Zuniga. Their leadership in this cannot be understated. EDUCATIONQUEST HALL OF FAME
Silvester Juanes

EducationQuest Foundation’s Hall of Fame recognizes individuals and organizations that help us achieve our mission of improving access to higher education in Nebraska, and inspire others to strive for college access success.
The program was started in 2016. You can read more about our past inductees on the EducationQuest Website.
We are awarding two inductees into the Hall of Fame this year, including Silvester Juanes. That will make it a total of nine inductees since the program started. We believe Silvester’s dedication to improving the quality of care and life of those in need of health care is inspiring. We are honored to have had him as a recipient of the Reaching Your Potential scholarship program.
