Military and Veteran Student Application Checklist
Applying to college as a military-affiliated student involves a few unique steps, and we’re here to help guide you through them. To help you get started, we’ve created a comprehensive checklist designed to walk you through the process with confidence. From gathering your transcripts to understanding how to use your military education benefits, this checklist will help you stay organized and on track toward reaching your educational goals.
1. Connect With Your Advisor
A military-focused advisor will reach out soon to guide you through the process. Have questions now? Call us at 1-855-472-4255. With this checklist and your advisor’s support, you’ll be ready to apply in no time.
2. Application Process
Complete our free application.
If you have completed any college-level tests (including the CLEP or DSST exams), courses, or professional trainings you want to be considered for college credit, make sure to indicate that on the appropriate section of your application. This section does not include your military experience – we will evaluate that separately.
Complete the free application for federal student aid.
Even if you don’t anticipate having student loans, completing this free application can help you plan appropriately. Use the University of New Hampshire code 002589.
Request your transcripts
If you previously earned credit from one or more colleges, make arrangements with these institutions to have your transcripts sent to us. This will kick off the process of evaluating your transfer credit so you can apply credits toward your degree.

Did you know?
We will evaluate your military training for college credit. The more transfer credit you have, the less coursework you’ll have to complete, saving you time and money toward your degree.
