There is no cultural form of greater significance than television today. On this course, you will learn how to make television, to understand the contexts and ways in which contemporary television is made and distributed, and critically analyse television and its impact to inform your own creative practice.
Course length: 3yrs full-time 4yrs inc. placement yr
You will nurture your creative talent through exploring current practices in television production, distribution and reception and have the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to turn your creative ideas for television making into practice and go on to make and distribute television in the digital age. You will have the chance to work in teams and with other screen industry professionals from screenwriters to actors in our industry-standard television studios and using postproduction equipment and software.

Your future Film and television offer many exciting careers, if you have the right credentials. This course will prepare you for a career in the industry in a variety of roles including research, content creation, scriptwriting, camera, sound, lighting, editing, studio and location management, production management, producing and directing. It will also provide you with a wide set of transferable skills which are applicable in a range of diverse and exciting careers. Whether your interests lie with the big screen or the small screen, you will graduate with a skillset to make your mark in industry. You will be experienced in research, meeting deadlines and working independently and collaboratively. You will be confident in a range of settings, with the ability to communicate effectively, pitch ideas and justify your opinions.
