DICK STRAHM CHAMPIONS FIELD Dick Strahm Champions Field provides 83,000 square feet of artificial turf for the football program and serves as auxiliary practice space for many of the 22 NCAA-sponsored Oiler sports teams. It additionally is utilized by UF’s intramural programs and community organizations including Upward Sports of Findlay. H O O P H O U S E FA C E L I F T Constructed in 2014, the Hoop House was designed to be a student-run entrepreneurial business. After going dormant, the Hoop House was renovated in Spring 2023. Students completed research on plants and soil before planting tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, zucchini, and more. All of the harvested crops have been donated to Christians Helping Other People in Need (CHOPIN Hall). Renovations were paid for by a generous gift from retired UF education professor, Elizabeth Raker, Ph.D.
U F R E C E I V E S E PA G R A N T The University was selected in 2022 as a recipient of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Ohio Environmental Educational Fund (OEEF) Grant. UF was awarded $37,684 to inform and educate teachers about the benefits of agriculture, sustainability, renewable resources, and agricultural business. In the summer of 2023, teachers from area schools attended a no-cost workshop that included hands-on learning.
