Testimonials

Sachi Bean

BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy

Sachi’s journey to UEL was driven by her passion for physiotherapy, but financial challenges initially made her hesitant about applying to university. Receiving the ViceChancellor’s Scholarship allowed her to pursue her studies without financial strain, recognising her individuality beyond just academics. At UEL, she has been able to balance her love for physiotherapy with her passion for acting, recently securing a role in a commercial tied to the new Beetlejuice movie. With the support and flexibility of her course, Sachi is embracing every opportunity and building a future where she can make an impact in both fields.

Pariss Sailsman BA (Hons) Criminology and Criminal Justice

Pariss’ journey to success began through the Clearing process at the University of East London. Despite initial setbacks, she found her path through the foundation course in Applied Criminology - a perfect fit given her passion for addressing systemic inequalities. With the support of dedicated tutors, she progressed to a BA in Criminology and Criminal Justice, graduating with a 2:1.

Her degree provided both academic knowledge and practical experience across the probation service, prison service, and youth offending. This inspired her to launch Journal to Dreams, an award-winning organisation empowering women and young people.

Pariss credits UEL’s supportive environment and hands-on approach for helping her turn challenges into opportunities, proving that with the right support, anything is possible.
