Since our inception in 1970, Union Home Mortgage has guided hundreds of thousands of aspiring homebuyers through the process of achieving homeownership. Driven by the belief that homeownership should be accessible for everyone, we go the extra mile for every customer, while providing a personalized experience unmatched in the industry.

Bill Cosgrove

CEO, MBA Chairman 2015

Bill Cosgrove is the CEO of Union Home Mortgage Corp. Bill has enjoyed a storied and illustrious career as an industry leader and advocate for the mortgage banking industry. He began his mortgage banking career in 1986 as a residential loan officer. He continually outperformed his peers and developed a reputation as one of the “go to” loan officers in Northeast Ohio.

In 1994, Bill joined Union Home Mortgage Corp. He continued to excel and in 1998 was named President of the firm and purchased the organization the following year becoming 100% owner. Since then, he developed a culture and operating philosophy that grew the company from its humble roots in Cleveland to a nationally acclaimed Mortgage Bank. Under his ownership, loan production at UHM has grown over 5,000%, reaching $3.2 billion in 2018. In 2021, the company’s loan production exceeded $15.7 billion. Bill has earned the Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation as a testament to his dedication and commitment to the mortgage industry.

Bill continues to be an industry leader, and his advocacy is well illustrated as evidenced by:

Mark Jones

President, MBA Chairman 2023

Mark A. Jones is CEO and Co-founder of Amerifirst Home Mortgage, a full-service residential mortgage originator and servicer. In January 2023, Amerifirst merged with Cleveland-based Union Home Mortgage, forming a top 40 national lender, where Mark serves as President. Prior to the merger Mark and his business partner, Dave Gahm, co-founded Amerifirst in 1983 and grew the company from a single location in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to over 80 full-service locations and 900 personnel nationwide. An advocate for affordable homeownership with a mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Immediately prior to the merger Amerifirst was the #1 USDA lender and #3 FHA lender in the State of Michigan, as well as the #13 FHA lender in the State of Florida. Amerifirst was a Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac seller/servicer and a Ginnie Mae issuer. Amerifirst managed a $6 Billion servicing portfolio. In August 2020, Amerifirst established a new bilingual mortgage services division to meet the growing homeownership needs of the Hispanic community.

Under Mark’s leadership, Amerifirst was named one of the “Fastest Growing Private Companies in America” by Inc. 5000 for six consecutive years. Committed to operating by a strong set of core values, it has ranked as a Best & Brightest Company to Work For in the Nation for the past five years (2016-2020) and was named one of the top 50 Best Mortgage Companies to Work For in 2021. In 2016, Mark received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Michigan and Northwest Ohio.

In October of 2023, Mark became the Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), the national trade association for the real estate finance industry. Mark has served on the Board of Directors of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and currently serves as chair of MBA’s Audit and Finance Committee. He previously served as co-chair of MBA’s Independent Mortgage Bankers Executive Council.

Al Blank

Sr. Vice President, Business Development

Al joined Union Home Mortgage in January 2013. With more than 35 years of experience in the financial sector both in banking and nonbank financial institutions, he brings extensive knowledge in capital markets, growth and development, as well as operational fulfillment.

Jill Ross Sr. Vice President, Mortgage Operations

Jill has been with UHM since 2012. Throughout her career, she has since worked her way through all facets of mortgage lending. Jill has assumed responsibility and accountability for all mortgage operations functions in all three channels of business.

Jim Ferriter Sr. Vice President, Retail Sales

As SVP of Retail Sales, Jim recruits and develops Partners by using leadership skills and expansive knowledge of the industry. He implements infrastructure and systems to support the success of the retail division and deliver profitable growth for the company.

Mike Jones National Sales Manager

Mike began his career in the mortgage industry in 1992 and has been with UHM for the past 21 years. In that time Mike has been promoted to National Sales Manager and have held this position over the last seven years, as well as being recognized as a member of the President’s Club and Customer Service Club multiple times.

Dave Rank

National Business Development Director

Dave started his mortgage career in 1994 at a family-owned mortgage company in Chicago. Dave has since held leadership roles at National City, Wells Fargo, and Eagle Home Mortgage. In February 2021, he joined UHM, where he built and now leads a retail recruiting team of over 20 Senior and Sourcing Recruiters, driving growth through strategic partnerships with the Regional Manager Team.

Bryan Wright Division Manager

Bryan has been in Mortgage Banking since late 1989. He has been a part of the Union Home Mortgage family since 2012.

Building his career as a top producing originator, Wright morphed into a growth leader role in 2015. Since that time he has helped the charge of growth with UHM by building out NC then moving into a regional role that led to a divisional position.

Jim Racine Division Manager

Jim is an experienced mortgage professional with more than 30 years of industry experience. Previously, Racine held positions of increasing responsibility and scope with Caliber Home Loans through its acquisition by Newrez in 2021. He is deeply familiar with markets across the Midwest including Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio, among others.

Region 1 Regional Manager

Josh is a Regional Manager at Union Home Mortgage and is passionate about serving his team and making a positive impact in their lives. He has been a partner with Union Home Mortgage since 2017 and has been in the mortgage industry since 2001. His primary focus is to help his team grow their production and to bring in new partners who want to take their business to the next level.

Brian Snyder

Region 1 Regional Manager

As a Regional Sales Manager, Brian is passionate about serving his team and making a positive impact in their lives. He has been a partner with Union Home Mortgage since 2017 and has been in the mortgage industry since 1999. His primary focus is to help his team grow their production and to bring in new partners who want to take their business to the next level.

Craig Franczak

Region 4 Regional Manager

Craig joined UHM in 2014, bringing with him nearly 20 years of regional sales management experience in banking. He had started his career as a branch manager before serving roles as area manager and regional managers.

Ryan Koenig

Region 2 Regional Manager

Ryan Koenig is the Regional Manager for Region 2. With a wealth of experience in the mortgage industry, Ryan cares about delivering world-class service in order to help customers and drive growth for the company.

Steve Runnels

Region 5 Regional Manager

Steve has been in the mortgage business since 1982. Not only does Steve is passionate about recruiting and building regional markets. These include key markets located in the south central region such as Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Dallas Forth Worth, Longview, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Kansas City, St. Louis, Oklahoma City and Little Rock.

Matt Roberts

Region 6 Regional Manager

Matt Roberts is a growth focus leader that has been in the mortgage business since 2004. He has a proven track record of growing branches areas and regions with some of the best talent in the mortgage business. As a non-producing gross leader Matt is invested in supporting his sales team whole growing the organizations presence on the west coast. the same time.

Chris Tabscott

Region 8 Regional Manager

Chris has been in Regional Leadership in the Mid-South Area for a dozen years. His passion is contributing to the American economy by helping clients, other loan originators and leaders navigate their personal financial situations and goals using the tools available in mortgage lending and real estate.

Kevin Cario

Region 7 Regional Manager

Kevin has over 28 years of experience in the mortgage industry leading and building markets throughout the Southeast.

Dave Peters

Region 9 Regional Manager

Dave has been in the mortgage business for over 25 years; he has been a top producer since his inception in the business, as well as an area manager for over 10 years. Prior to becoming a loan officer, Dave had several years as a title representative.

Lynn Wright

Region 10 Regional Manager

With an impressive career spanning nearly 4 decades in the mortgage industry, Wright brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Union Home Mortgage. He most recently served as Regional VP at Caliber Home Loans for over 12 years.

Stacy Fritz Region 12 Regional Manager

Throughout her 30+ year career she’s been on a path to seek out the right people and cultivate a community driven by growth and prosperity. The choice of who you work with and for is crucial—it shapes your path to success. She has extensive experience in the mortgage industry from both an Operations and Production perspective. Stacy is dedicated to supporting and growing the UHM footprint in California.

Linda Thomas Region 15 Regional Manager

Linda has been in the mortgage industry for 25 years starting in Maryland and moving to Florida in 2013. She is the Florida Regional Manager and thrives as a Servant Leader to her team through education, support, coaching and mentoring. She believes that Mortgage is a career that can change your life and the lives of those around you. Throughout her career, Linda’s driving force is her love for seeing others grow and succeed.

What is PCP?

Partners Coaching Partners is our internal coaching program designed for every loan originator at Union Home Mortgage. With voluntary enrollment, Partners are grouped with fellow Partners at their production level and matched with a coach who has been where their fellow Partner wants to go! We coach our fellow Partners through personal accountability systems driving measurable increases in leads, closings and personal savings, while focusing on work and life harmony. We have 5 Levels of Coaching to meet our Partners where they are.

Why PCP?

Accountability is the shortest distance between where you are and where you want to be. Our Coaches have a pay-it-forward, giversgain mentality reflecting the values of senior management. Within the program we multiply our time to compound our results and maximize the value we add to our partners, clients and customers. We manage our money as a reflection of our life values, as we continue to build a world-class, award-winning workplace. We do our part to grow the company to a top 25 national lender, with 500 Partners in PCP. At UHM, we believe in empowering responsible homeownership – one of the quickest pathways to homeownership is ensuring that individuals and families are in a position to not only afford a home, but maintain one as well. The UHM Foundation was launched in 2015 to equip families with the tools and resources to achieve economic self-sufficiency. We do so by providing funding and offering programs around two main pillars: Financial Literacy, and Housing.

We also support our partners passions and provide a few extra ways to give back to organizations our partners are engaged with. We offer volunteer paid time off hours, host donation drives, provide a matching gift program, grant annual partner impact awards, and much more.
