Weather permitting, the golf course is scheduled for spring aerification on Monday, April 8th, and Tuesday, April 9th. Please note that the course will be closed during this period.

Dear Valued Members,

Welcome to an exciting 2024 here at Medina Country Club! We hope that warm weather is approaching quickly, and winter is coming to a close. To all Members that are returning, welcome back! Also, to our new Members, welcome to the Medina family! You the members, make our club so special and we thank you for your continued support.

We hope that you all have been enjoying the Union Performance Centre and everything the state-of-the-art building has to offer. We are pleased with the amount of use the Gym, Palmer Room/Simulators, and the Indoor Golf Centre has been receiving. We are excited to have a grand opening for the brand-new driving range and the short game area sometime this Spring! Stay tuned for the big announcement.

We are pleased to announce that new furniture has been ordered for the Clubhouse! We are excited for the new & fresh look that this furniture will provide. We have also revamped the Old Pro Shop in the Clubhouse to create a great space for fine dining. This room will also serve as a great event space for any type of shower or private party. We are also making vast improvements to the pool, landscaping, and overall pool experience! It will be a great pool season.

We are thrilled to welcome back all of our amazing partners for the 2024 season, and to welcome Jason Martin for his first season as Head Golf Professional. Our Partners are a huge part of what makes Medina Country Club great, and their hard work pays great tribute to our culture of providing great customer service.

In conclusion, 2024 is going to be monumental for our Club! We feel so blessed that you have chosen Medina to be the Country Club home for you and your families. Being a great family club will always be one of the main pillars of our foundation.

GOLF OPS update

Welcome our new Head Golf Professional, Jason Martin!

It is an exciting time for the Medina Country Club Golf Operations as we begin the golf season. Most of our Partners that worked here previously, are returning to work at MCC again this year. We will continue to build on the outstanding customer service they have provided in the past. We have new merchandise arriving daily and the Golf Professional Shop is starting to fill up. Please stop by on April 6 from 11am-2pm, in the Pro Shop, for our meet and greet with me. We are excited for the start of the season and look forward to seeing everyone soon.

GOLF COURSEupdate

Happy spring members,

I would like to give everyone an update on the outside conditions of the golf course. As you all know we were fortunate this winter from a lack of snow perspective, but the tradeoff was no frozen ground and lots of rain. The maintenance staff has been dodging the raindrops and pruning trees, edging bunkers, and maintaining the flower beds for the most part. We have also been prepping our equipment for the start of the season. We are excited to get out there and start mowing grass as soon as possible. In addition to working when possible on the championship course, we have been keeping ourselves busy on the new construction site. The future site of the Reversible Nine at Medina Country Club has seen a great deal of change over the last few months. There have been more trees removed and we worked on a creek bank

restoration project. It is exciting to see the construction work going on and we are very excited to be working on the new nine holes. Hopefully the weather will be changing soon and golf carts will be able to get out on the golf course. I look forward to seeing everyone soon out on the golf course.

FOOD & BEVERAGE update

On behalf of the entire Clubhouse Staff please let me welcome back our entire Membership. 2024 looks like another groundbreaking year, and the staff and I want to make sure everyone has an amazing experience every time they come out to enjoy any part of the Club. Over this Winter we opened the Palmer Room inside the Union Performance Centre. Members flocked in to get a look at the amazing job that was done to get not only The TrackMan Simulators rolling, but to provide awesome food and drinks while enjoying your time here. If you haven’t had a chance to visit and check it out, please do so soon, you won’t be disappointed.

Inside the Clubhouse we are revamping the Old Pro Shop into a new dining Section. We hope families can come out and enjoy an elegant night at the Club in this newly renovated space. New furniture is also on its way to all dining areas inside the Clubhouse.

We are excited to give all members a nicer dining experience and ambiance while visiting the Club. Another incredible addition to the bar this season will be two brand new Slush Machines that will bring smiles to everybody, young and old alike. We also have a brandnew Wine List that will be available when the Clubhouse opens. There is a wide array of wines and a bigger selection than we have had in the past. The Cigar Humidor will be fully loaded and ready to kick off the season as well. If you ever have any needs or requests, please don’t hesitate to contact me or Heather.

This is Parker's fifth golf season with Medina Country Club. His current role at the Club is Outside Ops Co-Lead. Parker attends the University of Cincinnati and is studying Operations Management And Finance. His goal is to continue to learn and eventually pursue a larger management role.

JIM WISE GOLF ACADEMY

We have been very busy through the winter at the Academy. With our new state of the art building, we were able to conduct clinics through the fall and winter. We are now gearing up for all our Summer Programs and activities.

Summer Programs

The upcoming program registrations are already going strong. Most of our clinics are already nearing capacity. The list of programs includes:

Partner Programs

We have several Partner Programs we will be running throughout the summer. These include PGA HOPE (for veterans), Ohio Girls Golf Foundation Clinics, Special Olympics, and

Drive Chip & Putt. Please look for these on the calendar. We appreciate the support you give us and the attendees of these programs.

Lesson Summary

The number of people requesting golf lessons from the Academy has continued to increase. In January through March over 475 lessons were given at the Academy. This is addition to the Winter Clinics that we conducted. Our instructors are excellent at treating each student individually and recommend swing adjustments based on each person’s abilities. Driving Range

We are anxiously awaiting the opening of our new driving range, as we are sure you are too! Current plans are to be able to open in mid to late May. This will depend on several factors including weather and how the new grass is coming in. We will have signs to let you know what tee area is being used for each day. If we have inclement weather, we will be able to open the doors to the hitting bays in the Union Performance Center to hit out onto the range. Please feel comfortable using the UPC hitting bays to warm up before your round until the range is open. CLICK HERE TO SIGN

ACADEMY UPDATE

Announcing Guest Fees and Rental Fees For The Practice Area At The UPC

We want to introduce the guest policies for the UPC golf practice area and remind you of some fun options for you at the golf practice area.

Guests:

You are welcome to bring guests to the indoor practice area. The guest fee will be $25 per guest. The member must be present with the guest. The guest will have access to the putting/chipping green and the hitting bays. If you bring a guest to warm up for a round of golf, there is no additional guest fee for use of the practice area.

Please sign the register when you walk into the practice area. If you have a guest, you can include your guest on that register.

Puttview Rental:

The interactive putting green is available to rent at $25 per 30 minutes; $30 for two or more people. If you would like to rent it to practice on Puttview or if a group of you want to compete in some of the fun games, please let us know.

Putting & Chipping Improvement Packages:

Aside from private lessons, we have two fantastic computer sensors that help with your short game technique. Together with one of our instructors, we develop a program that will help your short game. Packages are available for $200.
