Apply for Funding:
Ensure you’ve applied to Student Finance Wales or England. Read our funding guide for further information.
Inform of any Changes: Changed course/university since applying for funding?
You’ll need to inform the Finance Authority.
Loan Release:
The University will inform the finance company post-enrolment.
Your loan release is then triggered once you’ve logged into Blackboard, our virtual learning environment (one - two days’ delay is normal).

Update Address:
Moving away from home?
You’ll need to update your bank with your new address.
Open Student Account:
If you’ve changed course/ university since applying for funding, you’ll need to inform the Finance Authority.
Proof of Status:
Do you need proof of your enrolment?
You can download this from the student portal post-enrolment.
Online Enrolment:
Opens 14 August. Check the email inbox you applied with as we’ll use this email to send the information needed to complete this process. You will need to set up your IT account before you can enrol.
Teaching Timetable:
Your timetable will appear in your University Microsoft Outlook calendar within 2 days of completing the online enrolment process.
Induction Timetable:
Your induction timetable will be available in your outlook calendar within two working days of completing your IT account set up.
Induction Sessions:
These will discuss modules, access library/IT facilities, collect your student ID, and learn about accessing support services.

By now, you will be fully enrolled and inducted as a USW student.
The Advice Zone is a team of people within USW that acts as a first point of contact for all student enquiries.
You can use our Advice Zone online portal to contact the team who will provide an answer to your query and then signpost to specialist services when needed. You can also phone the advice zone on 01443 482540 where a member of the team will guide you to the appropriate service.
The Wellbeing Service
The Wellbeing Service consists of the USW Health Service, Mental Health and Counselling Service and Disability Service. These offer free, impartial advice and support to all USW students, and a wide range of services and supportive resources.
The Disability Service provides information, advice and guidance, and co-ordinates disability-related support for USW students. Please get in touch with the team as soon as possible should you require any support, to ensure everything you need is in place before you join.
The Student Money Advice Team provides support and advice to help students manage money, plus information about funding scholarships and bursaries. They can be contacted through the Advice Zone.
