STUDYING IN THE UK IS A LEAP OF FAITH BUT IT’S WORTH IT! YOU’LL END UP LEARNING SO MUCH ABOUT YOURSELF. YOU’LL CONSTANTLY SURPRISE YOURSELF BY HOW MUCH YOU GROW AND EVOLVE INTO THE PERSON YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE.
I APPLIED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH WALES BECAUSE I WANTED TO LEARN HOW TO CREATE PROFESSIONAL DOCUMENTARY FILMS. Temilorun Enemuwe, MA Documentary Filmmaking
THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY TIME HERE AT USW WAS DEFINITELY MEETING NEW PEOPLE. BEING AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AND TRAVELLING ALL THE WAY FROM INDIA WHEN I WAS 18 AND SETTLING IN THE UNITED KINGDOM WAS A BIG STEP FOR ME. MEETING NEW PEOPLE, UNDERSTANDING THE NEW CULTURE, ADJUSTING IN SOCIETY AND GETTING THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN FROM TOP LECTURERS ARE SOME OF THE BEST THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO ME. MOST IMPORTANTLY, UNIVERSITY HAS TAUGHT ME TO ALWAYS BE MYSELF AND SAY ‘YES’ TO EXPERIENCES.
Aakshi Sharma, BA (Hons) Business and Management
I CHOSE USW BECAUSE OF ITS GLOBALLY ACCREDITED DEGREE PROGRAM AND EMPHASIS ON HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE. LIVING ON THE TREFOREST CAMPUS, I IMMERSED MYSELF IN THE LIVELY SOCIAL SCENE AND MADE COUNTLESS FRIENDS. THIS SOCIAL EXPERIENCE SETS USW APART. MY JOURNEY AT USW HAS SHAPED ME INTO A WELL-ROUNDED, INDUSTRY-READY PROFESSIONAL.
Musab Kazi, MSc Mechanical Engineering
THE UNIVERSITY HAS A LOT OF SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS. THE ADVICE ZONE WILL SIGNPOST YOU TO FREE SERVICES SUCH AS WELLBEING OR COUNSELLING, AND YOU CAN ACCESS THEIR HELP ONLINE OR IN PERSON. THE LOCATION OF THE UNIVERSITY IS BEAUTIFUL. FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS, I HAVE JOINED MY FELLOW RESEARCH STUDENTS ON THE ANNUAL WALK TO PEN Y FAN IN BANNAU BRYCHEINIOG, THE BRECON BEACONS. THE SCENERY IS AMAZING.
Abasiokpon Udoakah, Social Policy PhD
IF YOU’RE THINKING OF PURSUING YOUR MASTERS IN THE UK, I WOULD DEFINITELY SAY – GO FOR IT. HAVING BEEN HERE FOR OVER 5 MONTHS SO FAR, I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH ABOUT MYSELF AND LEARNED HOW TO BE MORE SELF-SUFFICIENT AND INDEPENDENT.
