Big skies. Big futures.

Choosing a university is a major milestone. You’re deciding to shape your future in a place where you can ask bold questions, explore big ideas and discover who you want to be.

At ULethbridge, you won’t get lost in the crowd. With small class sizes and professors who actually know your name, learning is up close and personal.

It’s a place to build confidence, gain real-world experience, strengthen your resume and sharpen your sense of direction. You’ll join a supportive community that values your perspective, encourages curiosity and helps you grow — both in the classroom and beyond.

Walk the halls and you’ll see familiar faces, trade quick hellos and know that you belong. Wander the campus and find inspiration in nature, between the river valley and the endless skies.

Take your first step towards ULethbridge, a place where new beginnings take root.

Affordable Education

ULethbridge tuition and fees are the lowest of the major universities in Alberta. Domestic undergraduate tuition and fees are $8,386, based on 10 courses (five per term) in a Bachelor of Arts program.

Good Things To Know:

• Professors care about you. Yes, you. They want to see you succeed and they make time to help.

• You can be doing research in year one. That’s not something every school offers.

• An abundance of help is all around you. From academic advising to mental health and more.

• The campus views are unreal. Especially at sunrise from the 9th floor of the library.

• You’ll grow in unexpected ways. With new confidence, insights and perspectives.

Your next home base.

Living on the Lethbridge campus makes your first year smoother, more lively and more connected. You’ll be a short walk from everything: classes, study spaces, food, new activities and new friends.

New University students will feel at home in one- to six-bedroom apartments, ranging from $2,252 – $6,288 per term. Transfer students stay in comfortable two-or four-bedroom apartments or townhomes for $4,096 to $6,560 per term.

Why Live on Campus?

• Easier transition to university life, especially during your first year

• Live with students on the same page and roughly the same age as you are

Residence Life & Support

Each residence floor has a trained Residence Assistant (RA). These peer leaders organize events, offer support and help build a positive living environment. You’ll also be part of the largest student club on campus: the Organization of Residence Students (ORS), known for turning hallways into connected communities.

Dining Plans

We offer flexible dining plans ranging from $4,850 –$5,625 (8-month contract) so you can focus on classes, not cooking. New University students living on campus must select either the Commuter or Standard plan. Extra hungry? You can top up any time.

“ULethbridge offers so many ways to get involved: clubs, intramurals, social events. Living in residence made it easy to meet people. My floormates became my best friends.”

We take food insecurity seriously. Our campus-wide programs include food pantries, fresh food boxes, care packages and breakfast giveaways. Plus, we have a student-run community garden on campus where you can grow and share the fruits (and vegetables) of your labour.

Student Wellness Ambassador Program (SWAP)

Developed for students, by students, SWAP is all about connection, support and shared wellness. Ambassadors are trained peer listeners who plan events, promote wellness tools and create safe spaces for meaningful conversations.

Health & Counselling Services

ULethbridge students have access to a fully equipped Health Centre offering primary care services, mental health support and addiction counselling. Our team includes doctors, psychiatrists, nurses, and therapists who work together to support your overall wellness.

Counselling is available in person, by phone, or through private virtual sessions and includes:

• Personal counselling

• Group counselling

• Self-help resources

• Peer support

• Wellness workshops

• Mental health training and certifications

We are Iniskim.

Iniskim is a space grounded in culture and community. • Elders visit regularly to offer wisdom, support and cultural teachings

• Various celebrations and events are held throughout the year, from traditional ceremonies to student-led initiatives

The Iikaisskini (Low Horn) Gathering Centre

Named after Elder Dr. Leroy Little Bear, Iikaisskini (Low Horn) (BASc (BA) ’72, DASc ’04) — one of Canada’s most respected Indigenous scholars and ULethbridge’s first Vice Provost of Iniskim Indigenous Relations — the Iikaisskini Gathering Centre is a cultural and spiritual hub. A safe and welcoming space for students to study, connect, share stories, or simply relax.

Learn it. Apply it. Get paid for it.

Learning doesn’t stop when class ends. Through Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), you’ll gain realworld experience while still working toward your degree. And you can earn a paycheque too.

Whether you’re working in a lab, interning with a business, supporting research or starting your own project, you’ll apply what you’re learning in meaningful and tangible ways.

100% of our students can take part in work-integrated opportunities.

What is Work-Integrated Learning (WIL)?

WIL combines academic coursework with real-life workplace experience. Each opportunity is built around clear learning goals and professional development, giving you an edge when it’s time to launch your career.

Co-operative Education

Alternate academic terms with paid work terms. Co-op students work across Alberta, Canada, and internationally, gaining practical experience and building professional networks.

Undergraduate Research

At ULethbridge, research isn’t exclusively for grad students. Starting in your first year, you have the opportunity to assist with ongoing research projects across sciences, social sciences and the humanities, often in paid roles alongside faculty members.

Work2Learn

Created with student needs in mind, Work2Learn offers part-time paid positions right on campus (usually about five to 10 hours per week), making it easier to balance work and study.

Track Your Experience

All WIL activities are tracked through your MyExperience Transcript (MET), a record of everything you’ve accomplished outside the classroom, from co-ops to clubs to volunteer work. It’s a great way to show future employers what you’ve done and what you’re capable of.

Orientation Programs

Ahead of the Herd

A summer welcome event for new students and their families. Take a campus tour, meet other incoming students and get a feel for what university life is really like before classes begin.

New Student Orientation

Held right before the start of term, New Student Orientation (NSO) introduces you to the people and tools that will help you succeed. Meet your professors, learn how university works and connect with current students who’ve been in your shoes. NSO is also a great place to meet and make friends.

De-Stress and Re-Connect

University life isn’t all lectures and labs. Our campus is full of ways to unwind, meet people and make memories, especially during intense times like midterms and finals.

REC Rooms (Refresh. Energize. Connect.)

What to do with downtime is a big part of university life. That’s why we have REC Rooms across campus. Fun, social spaces where you can unwind, recharge, meet people and play games.

• Board games and puzzle

• Art supplies and comfy seating

• Foosball, VR, and giant chess

• A place to chat, relax, or take a breather

Soft launch your year.

Looking for a quieter way to arrive on campus and get settled in early?

Our Early Start Experience (ESE) and StartSmart Quiz can help you ease in, get familiar with campus and help you get your bearings before classes begin.

The Early Start Experience (ESE)

ESE is a full-credit, liberal education course that takes place before the fall term. It’s a high-impact way to meet classmates, get to know the Lethbridge campus and your professors, find student supports, and adjust to university life, while earning credit toward your degree.

Why choose ESE?

• Receive a guaranteed residence spot if you apply and pay on time — you can also move in early

• Make friends and build your support network

• Get comfortable with campus before the rush

• Map the Lethbridge campus and learn where you can find student resources and supports

“The Early Start Experience helped me feel like I belonged before classes even started.”

StartSmart Quiz

Before your first term, we’ll send you a short quiz to help you reflect on your strengths and areas where you might want extra support. Based on your responses, we’ll connect you with resources that will help you the most. Research shows that students who take the quiz are more successful at university than those who don’t. Full stop.
