Detroit Mercy Men’s Basketball Newsletter #OurTurnOurCity

Happy New Year From Your Titans Bringing in the new year, Detroit Mercy is looking to leave behind 2016, and continue to move forward with the growth of the Men’s Basketball Program under first year Head Coach Bacari Alexander. The Titans have now strung together two conference wins in a row against rival Oakland University and their most recent victory, Youngstown State University. This leaves your Titans 4-14 overall, 2-4 in conference. Hoping to continue their streak, Detroit Mercy will head to Wright State (January 20th) and Northern Kentucky (January 22nd) for two road conference games.

In the recent Metro Series Rival Game between your Detroit Mercy Titans and the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, The Titans willed their way to victory on the road 93-88. Their defensive tenacity and chaos package forced Oakland to turn the ball over a season high 25 times, and were able to close out the game hitting clutch free throws down the stretch. This was the Titan’s first conference win under new Head Coach Bacari Alexander and the future looks bright at Livernois and 6 Mile.
