1 Global Solutions: A team of UC Davis MBAs were finalists in the 2012 Hult Global Case Challenge, the world’s largest crowd-sourcing platform to tackle issues related to global poverty. After winning the regional round in San Francisco, they flew to New York City to compete against five teams from other top universities. Honoring the contestants vying for the $1 million purse: Bill Clinton.

2 Dining with the Deans: Sacramento MBA students enjoy quarterly informal lunches with our deans. It’s an opportunity to get to know one another and to discuss important issues, including curriculum, course scheduling and program updates.

3 Big Bang! Business Plan Competition: Launched in 2000 by a team of Sacramento MBA students, UC Davis’ annual business plan competition provides a forum for developing and testing entrepreneurial visions. After two part-time MBA students who work in the biotech field presented their plan for Integrated Cancer Therapeutics (ICT), the start-up took home $15,000 as winner of the Medical Technologies Track, funded by a National Science Foundation grant. ICT’s UC Davis–based innovation, CuroGen, a unique nanotechnology carrier drug delivery system that targets the chemotherapy drug at urinary bladder cancer tumors, is in the preclinical trial stage.

4 Meet Warren: Billionaire businessman and philanthropist Warren Buffett has hosted approximately 250 UC Davis MBA students at Berkshire Hathaway’s headquarters in Omaha since 2005. How do you thank a man who has everything? Our students volunteer at several local nonprofits during the trips.

5 Build Your Social Capital: UC Davis MBA students enjoy diverse opportunities to grow their professional network. Our recent Capital Connections Reception, held in downtown Sacramento’s iconic Citizen Hotel, included a panel of the School’s alumni who have maximized their UC Davis MBA ROI—and a great opportunity to meet others in the School’s community.

6 Entrepreneurship Opportunities: Professor Andrew Hargadon leads the Child Family Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s Business Development programs and academies, which bring MBA students and investors together with scientists and engineers from around the world to develop the commercial potential of their research breakthroughs. They emerge having built businesses from the ground up.

9 Making a Net Impact: Net Impact uses the power of business to create positive social, environmental and economic change. Our GSM Professional chapter provides Sacramento MBA students and alumni with professional development and community engagement opportunities centered on green tech and social entrepreneur-

ship. Launched in 2008, the chapter has earned a Silver ranking from the national Net Impact organization for four consecutive years for its activities. Members also collaborate with the School’s trailblazing Daytime MBA chapter.

Admissions The Graduate School of Management seeks candidates with the potential to become innovative leaders for global impact. Prospective students have impressive records of achievement and the promise to accomplish much more.

Our Admissions Committee selects applicants whose demonstrated leadership, intellectual capacity, global perspective, academic background and professional experience have prepared them to meet the challenging demands of our MBA program and a successful career. Admission is based on your work experience, academic record, GMAT or GRE performance, personal essays and recommendations.

Our students come from diverse professional and academic backgrounds.

No particular area of undergraduate preparation is required. Although the program has no specific subject prerequisites, we suggest introductory S U B M I T T I N G YO U R A P P L I C AT I O N

FINANCIAL AID

Undertaking your MBA represents a significant investment in your future, and a variety of financial aid programs are available to assist you. UC Davis MBA graduates earn a considerable return on their financial investment, and the Graduate School of Management continues to invest in our scholars and assist students in financing their MBA.

UC Davis MBA students have access to a variety of programs to help with their MBA expenses, including employer assistance, grants and student loans. Talk to your manager or human resources department about your educational goals and how they can support you. UC Davis offers a competitive grant program to help students with their MBA program expenses. Finally, both federal and private student loans are available to assist you.

Your course fees are set at the time of your enrollment and remain fixed for your MBA studies. For Sacramento MBA students who enrolled fall 2012, the fees were: $75,600 for the degree, paid at the rate of $1,050 per unit.

These fees include course fees, textpaks and access to all UC libraries. Fees for fall 2013 will be set in late spring.
