2011 Vote Record: State Legislators Score PErfect Vote Record

he Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce announces its regional legislators’ vote record on the most important state issues tracked by the Chamber in 2011. “In collaboration with our regional advocacy coalition, the Southwest California Legislative Council, we worked closely with our area legislators to make sure the business voice was represented at the statewide level of government,” stated Alice Sullivan, CEO of the Temecula Valley Chamber. “It is important that we hold our legislators accountable to the issues impacting our regional business community. We want to thank all of our legislators for voting with the Temecula business community 100% of the time in 2011. Supporting what is best for our local economy was priority number one for each of them,” continued Sullivan.
The Chamber lobbied during the 2011 legislative year for our legislators to oppose 20 legislative proposals and support 10 legislative proposals. To reach the “Percentage FOR pro-jobs legislation,” the Chamber tallied the number of times our legislator’s final votes were with the Chamber’s position on each proposal and divided that total by the total number of proposals in which each legislator voted. A legislative proposal is not figured into the vote record percentage if a legislator, for whatever reason, did not vote or if the proposal failed before the legislator had an opportunity to vote.
