Fascinating fables IF you have been an ardent fan of Step Up, you’d probably know who Aesop is. Step Up features lots of fables from Aesop in its Story time section. Aesop was a master of telling morality tales based on animal characters. The tales use animals to describe characteristics: proud lions, busy bees, industrious ants and more. But not all lions are brave (as shown in the story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz), so this goes to show that we should not stereotype animals and people. But here is something fun you can do. If you could be an animal in one of Aesop’s fables, what animal would you be? Draw the animal you would take on in the space provided. Then, provide three reasons why you would be this animal. What are the similar traits you and this animal have? Example:
The animal that you would be:
I would be a snake because:
I would be a/an ____________ because:
1. Snakes are considered smart. I am smart too as I do well in my studies.

2. Snakes can also appear fierce and scary. When I am angry, my younger brother stays away from me as he says I look scary when my face turns red.

3. Snakes are also considered beautiful creatures. I am handsome and a lot of people compliment me on my boyish looks.
