Managing time effectively Activity 1 Critical thinking
Master your time “OH no, there’s just not enough time!”, “Where did the time go?”, “I need more time…” These phrases are so common that most of us have used them ourselves, especially when examinations are just around the corner or when projects are due. In today’s fastfaced life, 24 hours in a day just does not seem enough to do all the things that we would like to do. Experts say that the best way to get the most out of a day lies in this fairly simple answer – planning. Planning plays a very important part in managing time effectively. Knowing what to do, how to go about doing it and keeping in mind how much time is needed to finish one activity help a lot in accomplishing our goals.

When was the last time you played a game of charades? Now, cut out words from the headlines in The Star to form three idioms that are related to time. Paste them on a sheet of A4 paper. Next, clip it to the back of your friend (Don’t let him see it!). He will then go around the class and ask another friend to act out the idioms, while he makes guesses. Have fun!
