TORRES NEWS THURSDAY 8 JUNE 2023

All smiles at WKNM Culture Day Apology Students, staff and visitors pulled together for Waybeni Koey Ngurpay Mudh’s Culture Day held last Wednesday to a theme of For Our Elders. The day was a huge

success with three hours of dancing – including a special performance by visiting Saibai Island dance team Muyngu Koekoper – entertainment and food. Pics supplied.

The Torres News wishes to make the following clarifications concerning our story last week (Edition 83, 1 June 2023) about the MGMN-supported Deadly Driver’s program on Badu: • Deadly Driver’s is not affiliated with Queensland Government; • The Indigenous Drivers’ License

NEWS 03 Unit (IDLU) is a Queensland Government program for Transport & Main Roads; and, • Deadly Driver’s went to Badu to support jobseekers in preparation of the IDLU visit to Badu. We would like to apologise for any confusion.
