Stronger communities funding EOIs open – Entsch
Federal Member for Leichhardt Warren Entsch is encouraging local community groups to put in an expression of interest for funds from the Stronger Communities Program. He said the scheme was available for projects that will help communities undertake small capital works projects or capital expenditure projects between $2500 and $20,000. “Community organisations in Leichhardt now have the chance to share in $150,000 worth of funding for projects which will help them improve their offering and deliver social benefits in communities across the region,” Mr Entsch said. “The Stronger Communities Program has been extremely successful and provides a great opportunity for those organisations to get a funding injection to help them achieve their goals. “Eligible projects
must bring social benefit to the wider community. “I want to encourage every not‐for‐profit in Leichhardt to look at this funding program.” He said examples of projects which may be funded under the program included: • upgrades, construction and fit-out of community spaces and centres; • upgrading facilities to provide inclusive access; • purchasing operating equipment such as computers, TVs, furniture, and fittings; • sporting facility upgrades including new scoreboards, BBQ facilities, seating, new turf, fit-out of change rooms, new canteen, new lights, upgrade water systems, gymnasiums, skateparks; • purchasing equipment for local SES or RFS; • purchasing first aid equipment.
