Hello and welcome to the October/November edition of INGEAR Magazine.
October 14th will see Kiwis go to the polls for the general election and no matter what the outcome and who governs New Zealand, TRT will be here to support our customers with whatever needs they require.
Across all our Parts and Service businesses in Auckland, Christchurch and Hamilton, we have seen steady demand and although it has been tough over the last 6 to 12 months for our Supply Chain teams, we have plenty of stock on the shelves to deliver your requirements. Across all other business units, Manufacturing, HIAB and Cranes, we are still seeing strong order books moving forward and are extremely optimistic about 2024. TRT's commitment towards safety and achieving Zero Harm took another step forward as we took the opportunity to stop all our businesses to reflect on safety and look at ways to improve how we do things across all sectors of our business. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind all our customers and suppliers as we approach the end of the year to make sure that you Work Safe, Think Safe, and Act Safe so that everyone can go home safe every day to your family and friends.
And finally, as COO of TRT, I get to do so many wonderful things every day, week & month, but one of the best things I get to do is MC the TRT 10-Year Service Award Dinner. This year we will have the pleasure of inducting six staff into our 10-year club as well as acknowledging six staff who have completed 15 years, one staff member who has completed 25 years and another who has completed 35 years. In total, we have forty-five staff in New Zealand as part of the 10-year club and four staff in Australia. Without people, you do not have a business and at TRT we are incredibly lucky to have 232 great people work for this organisation.

Our TRT Crane Service team in Hamilton had their work cut out recently with this monster GMK4100L-1 from Greymouth Petroleum, New Zealand. They had a number of jobs to complete on this crane, cylinder reseal, installing a new turbo, and service - but all in a day's work for TRT’s Crane Service team.

It's worth noting that there are no ongoing costs for the GPS; instead, we use a receiver to measure ground speed, which offers greater accuracy than the truck's speedometer.
TRT employs over 240 dedicated staff, including 42 individuals, including 12 representatives on the road, who are committed to the parts department, responsible for maintaining and providing overnight support for our Traction Air® product from Hamilton, Auckland, or Christchurch, should any parts be required.
Maintenance: The pneumatic system component (Filter assembly) of Traction Air is engineered to handle contaminants like oil from the compressor and the truck's air system. However, it remains susceptible to blockage from rubber debris and dirt returning from the tyres. We recommend opening and emptying the filter at each service interval (typically every six months).
When parking the vehicle overnight or for extended periods, it is crucial to turn off all wheel end axle bridge ball valves.
Traction Air can mask small leaks and punctures, and leaving a single tyre overnight with such issues could lead to all tyres losing pressure and breaking their beads. The ball valves on the two brass tees are primarily there for quick isolation of a wheel group in case of hose blow-outs or similar incidents.
