So that there is an ease of convenience for our customers, and less pain/headache for them. Focusing on anything we can do to make it an easier process forthem. OCT. 2022 A: My Dad started in HVC, but then got into aerospace. We’ve been shifting more into aerospacebygettingcertificationsthatsetsusapart,suchastheISO9001andAS9100D certifications. The time spent on these certifications allows us to have quality systems and more on time delivery in place. We’ve already had these qualities present at KSM, butnowthey’remoreformallydone Q: What is the mission of KSM Metal Fabrication? Q: What is your mission/vision compared to previous family/leaders? Q. How many employees does your business have? A 18 Q. What moments/things have been most rewarding to you running KSM? A.Developingourteamandseeingthemgrow.

Q: What challenges have you had to face and overcome?

A: COVID hit us hard especially with us focusing our work in aerospace.Ourpartsareshippedallovertheworld, whichof course with air travel diminished, affected us When that happened half of the workforce was working 24 hours a week. And troubles didn’t end after returning to work. We were hit with a supply chain problem and cost issues. It's been a struggle the past two years Furthermore, as a small business, there’ssomuchredtapethatyoumustgothrough. And sometimes large companies that are customers, don’t always comprehend or understand what goes into being a smallbusiness Asasmallbusinesswehavepeople“wearing multiplehats”.

Q: What is something new you would like to do with your business, or start to offer more?

A: Concentrate on more value added services If we can make the part here and then continue with the next steps in the process, that could save our customers time andhavingtodothenextfewstepsthemselves.Wewouldn'tjustliketomakethepart itself; we would like to continue the next steps of the process for the item that is needed Intheend, savingthecustomersfromhavingtodotoomuch

Q: What inspired you to be so involved in supporting the Troy Community?

A: Both of my parents, but especially my dad. My dad believed that if you have a business here, you contribute and you are part of the community, and you support this community you work in. He instilled that in all his kids. It has now been 7 years in a row participating in United Way, and we are hoping for an 8th. Our employees are part of the community, and we need to be a good steward for them. Furthermore, our employeesneedtounderstandtheirroleinthecommunityaswell.

Q: What is a dream goal that you would love to achieve with your business in the future?

A: We still want to be part of the Troy community and be a good business for Troy. We wanttocontinuetogrow.

Troy

Citizens Center

Recently The Troy Senior Citizens Center celebrated their 60th anniversary The center was incorporated in 1962, with the original building once being the golf house/shack that was donated by the Hobart Brothers. The Senior Citizens Center had their 60th anniversary celebration this September on the 13th with a food truck, around 150 people in attendance, and lots of fun. Their current goal/mission is to be “A Playground for Seniors” where you can meet with others to “play”.

There are so many things that the center offers: crafts and exercise classes, book clubs, bridge/bingo, festivals/bazars, holiday events, and even manicures/haircuts from Creative Images Institute of Cosmetology. And those are just a few things that they offer! Currently they have members that attend regularly, and new members are always welcomed. Folks 55 and older can “try out” the center with two free visits to check out events, and then can choose to join if they want. They have a Fall Festival Event coming up for members on October 21st that will have food and lots of fun!

So feel free check out their website to see their newsletter, “Senior Moments”, and calendar for upcoming events, programs, and support that is offered at the center. So, feel free to check out the center located at 134 N. Market St. Troy, OH 45344. Just come on down and play!

Tip of the Month

We know it feels way too early to discuss the Holiday Season...but it's coming. And it's better to be early and prepare, than to be late at last minute. Here are some tips for the Holiday Season ahead.

Make sure that when your are getting ready for the holiday season, and the sales/events that might go with it, that you share them on social media and on event calendars. Coordinating your sales/events with fellow businesses/events can help draw customers in. If you are a small business, a day you will want to mark in your calendar is Small Business Saturday, which is November 26th.

Remember to take your employees into consideration when the holiday season comes around. Need an idea for rewarding you employees? Check our Gift Card program: https://app.yiftee.com/gift-card/troy--oh-troy
