Lighting
Lighting should be a carefully considered part of any life support system. It plays a key role in the biology and welfare of most animals and plants. In plants the need for light is well known, but LED technology allows light output to be tailored to be as efficient as possible. In animals the type of light used can greatly effect visual acuity. This in turn improves feeding responses and stress levels. The control of light can also have strong biological effects which help further with animal health and welfare.
Biosystems have been active in LED lighting since 2007. Our experience in lighting in harsh environments, teamed with our background in animal husbandry and biology places us perfectly for this field. We are active in most areas where plants or animals are involved: Aquaculture, agriculture (including pig, poultry, cattle and insect breeding), race horses and horticulture. We have kitted out facilities including research institutes and public aquaria, offering spectrally tuned lighting with a high level of control. Our equipment is designed with robust, high quality components to withstand harsh conditions; giving the user the best results possible. These include improvements in welfare, production outcomes and costs.

Lighting Controllers

Biosystems offer a wide range of control options to be used with various lights, from wireless control systems designed with retailers in mind (AquaBar Pro) to hardwired largescale controllers that can offer seasonal variation (Biolumen Pro Control).

AquaBar Pro
Fully automated wireless control of your lights with the AquaBar Professional Control System.
Modular and fully scalable, this system is a great addition to any AquaBar lighting system, and if you’re a retailer it will bring you a step closer to a 5* rating on your pet trade license.
Uses built in RF communication to form its own mesh network. No need for Wifi.
Simple ‘drag and drop’ programming interface.
Programmable from any windows based device via USB-A dongle.

AquaBar Pro System Component Explanation
The AquaBar Pro Node is the main control hardware. You can plug one node per power supply to control up to 100W of lights (4 x 4ft AquaBars). This also connects to temperature and level sensors.
The AquaBar Pro USB Dongle plugs into any Windows-based device (USB-A port required), and communicates to the system to allow programming.
The AquaBar Pro Clock Node (optional) has a battery backup to store the time in the event of a power failure. This way the lights will restart after a power outage without the need of a Windows-based device. The clock node is also the interface device for PIR sensors.
The AquaBar Pro Fob (optional) allows for simple manual override of the system without interrupting the program; moving the lights to their next programming phase (i.e. on/ off).
