NUFF

NUFF er en festival for dem som er ung og lager film i Norden. Fra 13. til 17. august 2003 samles filminteressert ungdom fra hele Norden i Tromsø, for fem dager med filmvisninger, seminarer og workshoper ledet av nordiske filmpersonligheter. Festivalen blir planlagt og gjennomført av ungdom, i samarbeid med Tromsø Internasjonale Filmfestival og Ungdomshuset TVIBIT om lokaler og tilrettelegging.

NYFF is a festival for young filmmakers in the Nordic countries. From the 13th to the 17th of august 2003, youth from all the Nordic countries with an interest in film will be gathering in Tromsø, for five days of watching films, and participating in seminars and workshops led by Nordic film professionals. The festival is planned and carried out by youth, in cooperation with Tromsø International Film Festival and TVIBIT, a local cultural house.

TVIBIT

- et kulturhus for ungdom i Tromsø

Ungdomshuset Tvibit startet opp 8. juni 2000. Huset er først og fremst et kulturhus for unge i alderen 15–25 år.

Tvibit driver ungdomsarbeid ut fra et kulturperspektiv, og mener at ungdom er en ressurs som har mye å bidra med, ikke minst for byen de bor i.

Tvibit har en filosofi basert på medvirkning og prosjektarbeid. Ungdommen skal være med og bestemme, og selv utføre mye av det som foregår i huset. De blir oppfordret til å realisere sine egne idéer og sette dem ut i livet. De voksne skal ikke styre huset uten innspill fra de unge, og heller ikke sy puter oppunder armene på ungdommene. Ungdommene skal få lov til å være med, og de skal lære seg å være selvstendige mennesker.

Under Tromsø Internasjonale Filmfestival 2003 presenterer Tvibit sitt nye prosjekt NUFF (Nordisk Ungdoms Filmfestival) fredag den 17. januar, med filmvisninger og andre arrangementer på huset.

TVIBIT – a cultural centre for youth The youth centre Tvibit opened on June 8, 2000. The house is mainly a cultural centre for youth between the ages of 15 and 25. Tvibit also has an information centre for youth.

Tvibit works with youth from a cultural perspective. We see youth as a resource with a lot to contribute to others and to the city in which they live. We are also convinced that the effect the young people themselves get from working on interesting projects and culture is positive.

The Tvibit philosophy is based on participation and project oriented work. The youth are part of the decision-making process, and they carry out much of what goes on in the house themselves. They are encouraged to realize their own ideas and bring them to life. Adults are not allowed to control the house without input from the youth, nor are they to help them excessively.

On Friday January 17th, during this years festival, TVIBIT presents its new project NYFF (Nordic Youth Film Festival), with film screenings and other activities.
