NEWSOM EXTENDS COVID-19 STATE OF EMERGENCY By Chris Frost Tri County Sentry Oxnard-- In the Tuesday, November 16 report to the city council, Assistant City Manager Ashley Golden, filling in for City Manager Alex Nguyen, said Governor Newsom extended the Covid-19 State of Emergency until March 31, 2022. “This extension will allow for the resources in case there are any new surges in Covid-19 cases over the winter,” she said. “Those ages five years old are now eligible for free Covid-19 vaccines. Art Show lights up

Channel Islands-- The local art community came to life, Saturday, November 15, as the Remember November Art Show & Sale on the patio behind Miscellaneous Treasures at 2301 Roosevelt Boulevard featured fine art and photography, paintings, resin art, and lots of unique jewelry.

“How wonderful is this to have this cooperating weather,” she said. “We’ve had a really good turnout this morning. We have eight artists here, the Channel Islands Gulls are here, and some world-renowned photographers are here.” She said despite the challenges they are keeping their names out in the community. “People are slowly coming

out and about to do a little bit of shopping since we’ve got the port issue going on, and the stores and things aren’t quite open yet,” Pringle said. “We’re hoping that people Remember November. We have to remember our veterans and celebrate them.” n Channel Islands, see page 5

Runway 25 rebuilt at Oxnard Airport By Chris Frost Tri County Sentry Oxnard-- Runway 25 is open and ready to go at Oxnard Airport, as it received a new surface and new runway markings. The community celebrated with a ribbon-cutting Friday, February 12. The reconstructed runway will

serve a vital interest in Ventura County’s future as it progresses and grows in the 21st Century. Director of Airports Keith Freitas said Oxnard has been in service for 87 years, and he noted that what makes a great airport is the community surrounding the airport. “It’s the pilots and the businesses n Runway, see page 5
