Arwen Arwen is an adorable 10-month-old longhair Chihuahua mix who is as unique as the character she is named after. This cute pup was brought to the Arizona Humane Society after she was abandoned at a house when her previous family moved and did not take her. An unfortunate and unnecessary action, as AHS has dedicated staff to give resources and tips to pet owners in need of help through its Pet Resource Center. Not much is known about this sweet girl’s past but it is assumed that she did not get a lot of socialization or experience “dog things” like walking on a leash and will need a family that is patient with her and dedicated to giving her the training she needs to help boost her confidence. Additionally, because Arwen loves being around other pups, she may do best in a home with another social dog as that may also help boost her self-esteem and bring out the outgoing side of her! Shawn About as handsome and regal as they come, Shawn is a handsome eight-year-old domestic longhair that closely resembles his wild cousins with his gorgeous coat and mane. This sweet kitty was brought to the Arizona Humane Society by a Good Samaritan as a sick stray when he was found underweight and not feeling well. Treated in AHS’ Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital, he is now looking for a forever home to treat him like the royalty that he just knows he is. Shawn is a sweet but sometimes shy boy who will need a little patience while getting acclimated to his home. However, once he opens up he is very cuddly and is the first to give big loud purrs, instead of roars, to say hello. He would also love a family that helps him keep his fur as shiny and beautiful as it is now by helping him with some brushing every now and then.
