City tours for tourists usually concentrate on places and narratives of perceived historical significance and importance. So what happens if we divert our gaze towards the stories and events that write the every-day life of Stuttgart? Do we learn more about a foreign city when we concentrate of the apparently mundane in amongst the spectacular? The artist collective qujOchÖ invites you to a tour of private and public events. Each tour is unique, a mix of the unexpected and the carefully planned, a route that criss-crosses the inner city, following the events of the day and the moment. You might listen in on a private concert by a student practicing for their exams, stumble across a children’s birthday party with Ronald Macdonald, stroll into a public consultation in the town hall, experience the birth of a child, sit in on a civil court case, join a wedding celebration, watch as an ambulance delivers a new patient, or take a ticket at the Armenian Consulate. qujOchÖ have designed two tours‚ ‘From the cradle to the grave’ and the ‘Bureaucratic gauntlet’
Touristische Führungen konzentrieren sich üblicherweise auf historisch besonders relevante Orte und Geschichten. Was aber, wenn wir unsere Blicke auf Geschichten lenken, die das alltägliche Leben in Stuttgart schreibt? Lernen wir nicht mehr über die eigene aber auch über eine fremde Stadt, wenn wir uns auf das scheinbar Kleine im großen Wahnsinn konzentrieren? Die Künstlergruppe qujOchÖ lädt Sie daher zu zwei Touren privater Ereignisse durch Stuttgart ein. Ob Geburt, Kindergeburtstagsfeier, BürgerInnenversammlung, Gerichtsverhandlung, Hochzeit, Betriebsfeier, Ambulanzaufnahme oder Beerdigung – jede Tour ist ein Unikat. Ihre Route richtet sich nach den Ereignissen des Tages und Momentes. Gemeinsam durchqueren wir die Innenstadt, werfen einen Blick ins öffentliche Krankenhaus, einen Gang zu Gericht oder zum angrenzenden Friedhof.
