The all-new Kona N is the first SUV to join Hyundai’s high-performance N range. A true hot SUV, it takes everything great about the original Kona and transports it to the outermost limits of pure fun. A precision-engineered machine that balances track capability with the versatility required for the school run. The power to play.

With its track-honed 2.0L turbocharged GDi engine, the Kona N comes alive well beyond the limits of a normal SUV Developing an impressive 206kW and 392Nm, it’s both pliable and punchy, crafted to encourage enthusiasm on every outing. Peak torque is delivered all the way from 2,100 to 4,700rpm, meaning the Kona N feels endlessly eager to please. Whether it’s overtaking on the motorway or powering out of a bend, this is a small SUV that defies convention.

The race-bred drivetrain is as adaptable as you are, featuring an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (N DCT) that comes with three exclusive performance functions, each of which you select with the push of a button.

N Power Shift (NPS) engages when the driver accelerates with more than 90 percent of throttle travel, kicking in to deliver maximum power to the road. N Track Sense Shift (NTS) detects spirited or track driving automatically activating transmission mapping to provide livelier, more palpable, acceleration. And N Grin Shift (NGS) has a trick all of its own. Touch the red button and it bumps the Kona N’s power output to 213kW for 20 seconds — delivering a grin to your face, and you towards the horizon.

Perpetually hungry for the next challenge, the Kona N offers a suite of highperformance features rarely seen in an SUV. Supremely capable yet calibrated for maximum fun, it’s the sort of outsized functionality that’s the hallmark of Hyundai’s N division.

True to its N heritage, the Kona N’s Launch Control function provides supreme traction for quick getaways, powering the hot SUV from 0-100km/h in just 5.5 seconds Its N Corner Carving Differential – operating via an electronic limited slip differential (E-LSD) – is dynamic and decisive, instantly distributing torque to the outside wheels where required. As the Kona N hooks through bends, it minimises understeer and delivers optimum grip, providing performance that’s as visceral as it is joyous – a connection to the drive that you feel in your stomach, and your soul.

Enviably energetic.

While sports tuned suspension increases poise—and oversized front and rear brakes boost stopping power—it’s the Kona N’s Variable Exhaust Valve system that take the soundtrack to a whole new level. Relatively subdued in its normal setting, it opens up in N mode, adding a WRC-car style crackling and popping sounds.

Of course, most trips are unlikely to be an exercise in lateral G forces, which is why the Kona N adapts to the everyday. Its customisable N Grin Control System features five distinct drive modes — Eco, Normal, Sport, N, and Custom — to put a smile on your face in every situation.

As a true performance model, the Kona N features an array of N design details that symbolise power and performance. Taking the sporty and dynamic styling of the Kona as its starting point, it adds aerodynamic features that boost both form and function.

Racetrack elements such as a front-lip spoiler, rear diffuser and sculpted flanks lower wind resistance. A unique grille, wider, lower air intakes and a double-wing roof spoiler contribute to more efficient cooling and increased downforce. From behind, twin exhausts and an N-specific triangular brake light provide extra visual flair. The Kona N’s distinctive N sport body kit makes it stand out from the crowd as a true hot SUV, even when it’s not in motion.

N-specific 19” alloy wheels with Pirelli tyres—and distinctively over-sized highperformance brakes—set it even further apart as an SUV with attitude. At once muscular, composed, and playful, the Kona N’s styling is a promise of performance that it’s always ready to deliver on.

The Kona N’s customisable 10.25” digital supervision cluster is the ultimate visual interface between driver and car. It’s tailored to delivering all-important information to the driver instantly in bold, crystal clear, colour - including torque, turbo boost, g-force and lap timer.

Just toggle the N buttons, and choose from six individual driving modes. In Custom mode you decide the drive, saving your specs for engine mapping, damper firmness, steering weight, E-LSD characteristics, stability control and exhaust sound level. The Kona N features the full suite of Hyundai SmartSense™ safety technologies. Developed to protect you and your family, they’re constantly alert, ever-ready to intervene if danger is detected.

Intelligent systems such as Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) use the windshield-mounted camera to scan the environment around you, reading road markings and monitoring pedestrians, cyclists and other cars. Designed to react instantly if needed, these systems alert you to danger, provide steering assistance and even brake independently if a collision is anticipated.

Other systems go further to help. High Beam Assist (HBA) will automatically disable high beam at night to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers or leading vehicles. Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA) uses radar sensors to detect vehicles to your side or approaching from behind. And a host of complementary technologies contributes to help you park and reverse safely, maintain concentration, or even negotiate your daily commute.
