THE BRIDGE

Trailer Bridge partnered with ATS International to host the fourth annual Rally por Puerto Rico charity golf tournament, raising a record-breaking $143,500 for Habit for Humanity of Puerto Rico. These funds will support the organization’s efforts to create safe, affordable housing on the island.
At the awards ceremony, Habitat welcomed a family who recently received the keys to their new home to share their story and the positive impact of the funds raised. The purchase of their home was made possible through Habitat for Humanity of Puerto Rico Homeownership program which is supported by the Rally tournament.
“Hearing the family’s story is a reminder of how important the work Habitat Puerto Rico is doing and why we rally each year to raise funds to support their mission to serve families on the island,” said Trailer Bridge CEO Mitch Luciano.
Puerto Rico has often been called the heart of Trailer Bridge, and the Rally golf tournament is one way we show our ongoing commitment to the island and its people.

This month, Trailer Bridge hosted the inaugural Rally for Kate charity golf tournament, raising more than $100,000 for the Kate Amato Foundation. On a sunny Friday, more than 80 golfers gathered at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club to support the organization’s mission to find safer, more effective treatments for children with cancer.
Every detail of the event was designed to reflect the joyful spirit of the organization’s namesake, Kate Amato - from the custom tournament logo to the butterfly trophies that were hand-painted by pediatric patients at Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Nemours.
Like every Rally tournament, Trailer Bridge covered all costs associated with the event so 100% of the proceeds went to the Kate Amato Foundation.
“Now more than ever community organizations like the Kate Amato Foundation need our support … the work Lisa and Jeff are doing through the foundation in their daughter’s memory is inspiring and I know the funds raised today will make a difference,” said Trailer Bridge CEO Mitch Luciano.

We had double the fun this month with not one, but TWO new employee onboarding sessions. Nearly 40 new team members came to the Jacksonville corporate office, where company leaders shared about our services and culture rooted in relationships.
At Trailer Bridge, we know how important it is to build relationships with our customers, carriers, and each other. At the beginning of April, members of leadership lived this core value while visiting TB logistics branches in Dallas, Houston, and Kansas City.
Mitch Luciano, Whitney Ennis, Kacy Swanson, Zach Monger, and Melissa Morrison had a whirlwind trip – visiting 3 branches in 3 cities over 3 days. In addition to catching up with old friends, it was a great opportunity to get to know the new faces of TB. The visit may have been fast, but the connections they made while spending time with these teams were priceless.
To celebrate National Pet Day, we asked members of TB Nation to send in pictures of their favorite animal companions to be featured in a social media post. The overwhelming response to the request made one thing clear: Trailer Bridge loves their pets! Enjoy this collection of all the adorable photos that were submitted.
Definition: A transportation method where freight travels across an international border while being transported from shipper to receiver. In North America, this means freight going between Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
The North American cross-border freight market is currently valued at more than $235 billion and is expected to exceed $308 billion by 2030.
With this transportation sector becoming more competitive, it’s important to understand how it works to make the most of this opportunity. In our most recent blog, we go over the basics so you can be an invaluable resource to customers shipping freight throughout North America.

DOT Week (officially known as the CVSA International Road Check) is an annual large-scale commercial vehicle inspection that occurs over 3 days and impacts drivers in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. These randomized inspections can cause transit delays and many drivers will opt to take time off to avoid inspection penalties.
Share these 4 tips with your customers to keep their freight moving during DOT Week:
1. Book capacity in advance
2. Expect longer transit times
3. Be prepared for higher spot rates
4. Communicate with your transportation providers

Everyone has heard of self-care, but team-care is just as important! To celebrate their hard work, the Logistics Accounting team unwound at Buff City Soap, where they bonded while making their own bath bombs.
The team recently attended an annual dinner hosted by the Jacksonville Propellor Club, in appreciation of the U.S. Coastguard (USCG) and Customs & Border Patrol (CBP). At the event, attendees enjoyed a keynote speech and honored two individuals for their impressive contributions to the USCG and CPB.
As part of TBWell’s Run Club program, the PR team laced up their sneakers and got moving at the 5k Altamesa, benefitting the local nonprofit Centro Ines. A Copayment is a fixed cost that you pay for medical services.
• On our PPO plan, a primary care medical appointment is a flat $35 for the appointment. This $35 is the copayment.
Coinsurance represents a percentage of the medical cost that is paid by the insurance company after the deductible is met. Prior to the deductible being met, the patient is responsible for the total cost of the billed amount.
• On our PPO plan, Durable Medical Equipment (insulin pumps, CPAP machines, etc.) is covered under coinsurance. This means that after the $2,000 deductible is met, the insurance would cover 80% of the cost of covered services.
• For our HSA plan, all claims fall under the coinsurance. This means that after the $2,500 deductible is met, the insurance would cover 90% of the cost of covered services.

‘In The Chicken Lights’ is a new monthly feature that profiles standout performers in carrier management.
April’s feature was Tim Stegink.
Since embracing the open-booking system and working to build relationships with carriers, Tim has experienced several benefits:
• Higher load count and decreased bounce percentage
• Access to higher quality repeat carriers who pick up a larger percentage of assigned loads
• Ability to book more loads, save time, and minimize fraud by working with carriers he has already used
“Tim has set the standard in our office with Carrier Management. Tim is proving to the rest of the team how successful you can be if you utilize the tools in Mastermind as well as building those relationships with your carriers,” said Strategic Accounts Manager, Jason Angell.
