Welcome to the Red Alliance Auction!
The Red Alliance Group is a unique cooperative effort of Red Angus Breeders from across Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Iowa and Arkansas. Red Alliance is the original source for Registered Red Angus bulls and females in Oklahoma. Many competitors followed our lead established in 2003 and began their own Red Angus sales. We are proud to have blazed the trail and help make Oklahoma a virtual hot bed of Red Angus cattle. Through the years of the Red Alliance event we have gained many friendships and loyal customers and have influenced commercial beef herds across the region. We sincerely appreciate your interest in our genetics and look forward to serving your Red Angus genetic needs for years to come. Our unique structure of allowing each breeder to select the genetics and blood lines independently allow us to offer you a wide variety of types and kinds of bulls. Through our bull test at PX Feeders the bulls come together for analysis and comparisons for growth and performance. The bulls offered are much more than simply growth and performance bulls so please use the variance in blood line selections to best serve your needs in Red Angus sire selection. In this offering you will find calving ease bulls for use on heifers, high carcass quality bulls as well as growth and power bulls. This year we are utilizing and identifying bulls that qualify for the Top Dollar Angus program. Each bull that qualifies will be designated with the Top Dollar Angus logo in their pedigree. March 11, 2017 offers every cattle producer some of the Red Angus breeds top genetics in Shawnee, Oklahoma. This weekend is more than an auction it is a Red Angus event so bring the entire family. The bulls and females will be available for viewing beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 10th at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center, Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Thoughts about market conditions….
Seasoned cattle producers knew that sky high calf prices were not going to last forever. That opportunity was the result of a perfect storm – Millions of breeding age cattle were removed from the herd inventory and sent to slaughter due to a historic drought. Dead cows don’t produce calves, thus fewer calves meant higher prices. Was it realistic to believe that idle pasture acreage would be idle forever? Nope, sooner or later that land had to be put back into production and thus herd expansion began. A rancher cannot sell calves without momma cows grazing that land which sat vacant for a couple of years, or more – so they are expanding the cow herd. It is a natural part of the cycle and seasoned ranchers know that current conditions are more normal now than they were when calf prices were at all time highs. The cattle business is still good and good bulls produce those calves that will bring market premiums.
