Welcome friends and neighbors to our 3rd Annual Fall “Partners in Progress” Production sale here at McEntire Red Angus. We hope you know how much we appreciate everyone who supports our program and hope that offering a selection of bulls and females in the fall will bring some new faces to the ranch. We love the cattle business and the families that it brings to our ranch. It’s what we do day in and day out, except for a few sporting events with the kids every so often!
We are excited about the group of bulls and females we have for your appraisal. These bulls are the younger end of our calf crop, and we have developed them here at the ranch. We will be selling a nice set of herd bull prospects that we feel will make a great addition to a seed stock producer or to a commercial cattle operation. We will also be selling an elite group of registered bred females and 85 commercial bred females that we feel will make a great set of cows to move your program forward in the Red Angus breed. The entire sale offering has been on a complete vaccination program. The heifers will be preg checked by Dr. Richard Prather one week prior to the sale.
We understand that the Red Angus breed is becoming more and more popular and that you have many options when it comes to choosing your herd bulls. We invite you out to the ranch to look over the bulls and heifers and hopefully you will find something that will bring value to your own operation and move your program forward. Good bulls make great cows and our mating decisions have been based on producing next generation females to be more efficient and productive than their mothers. Red Angus cattle have been known for good dispositions, calving ease, adaptability, and keeping your operation in the black! A good set of Red Angus tagged calves will top the sale no matter where you go.

Optimism is a welcome and fresh term for the beef industry! This market began to brew over two years ago, and it continues to surge and set records daily from coast to coast and border to border. Enthusiasm among producers is extremely contagious, as most all have received more for their work and investment than at any other time in their lives. The daily discussion among producers is making the investment in the next generation genetics and setting out to improve through their genetic acquisition instead of getting by with the traditional status quo price restriction. Several of those producers will turn to family outfits like McEntire Red Angus to take that next step in the right direction and rightfully so.
Randy and Crystal have stepped the operation up another level through key genetic acquisitions in herd sires over the past couple of years. The infrastructure at McEntire in terms of facilities also ramps up so that they can serve their current customer base and add numbers in the future to give bigger ranching entities the peace of mind by offering the same quality in volume. The roots of this outfit would be strong and deep with a commercial focus, and that’s why they keep making the trip to the metroplex of Sweetwater, Oklahoma.
The focus has always been to offer a product in a red hide that can improve any program, commercial, or seedstock. Searching for and acquiring the genetics that keep the program moving forward is a constant process. Randy has done a great job of keeping the cow base like in kind and genetics. Each year, pressure is applied to make sure the female base it tough enough to withstand the volatile environmental pressures of Western Oklahoma. An environment that can be the hottest and driest place on the continent or host a record blizzard with sub-zero wind chills for an extended time. The cattle must be low-input and self-sufficient, yet are also expected to produce large, market-topping calves, and/or the kind of herd bulls that sire premium-bound progeny with the performance and conversion to give that respective producer the reputation for having the goods.

SEMEN INTEREST
McEntire Red Angus will retain 1/2 semen interest in all bulls sold.
SEMEN TEST
All bulls will be semen and Trichomonas tested prior to the sale and are guaranteed to be fertile.
INCENTIVES
Free delivery on bulls within 300 miles of the ranch. This does not include heifers. All trucking on females is the buyer’s responsibility, but we will be glad to assist with trucking plans. If bulls cannot be taken sale day or arrangements have not been made with us within the first week for delivery, the seller can house bulls at McEntire Red Angus until pick up at a rate of $6/day. However, we will not be responsible for sickness or injury.

All bull are guaranteed by insurance only. McEntire Red Angus will pay 30% of the insurance premium on each bull purchased in the sale if the buyer chooses for the first year after purchase date. Red Angus Guide to EPDS and Indexes
ProS ... Profitability and Sustainability is an all-purpose index that predicts average economic differences in all segments in the beef supply chain. This index is a combination of the breeding objectives modeled in the HerdBuilder and GridMaster selection indexes. In this index, replacement heifers are retained from within the herd and all remaining progeny are fed out to slaughter and sold on a quality-based grid. Traits included in this index include calving ease, growth, HPG, STAY, Mature Weight, Dry Matter Intake and carcass traits. The resulting index is expressed in dollars per head born (Index/High Value).
HB ..... HerdBuilder is a maternal selection index that predicts the economic differences of animals for traits that are important from conception through weaning. Expressed as dollars per head born, HB is calculated based on the scenario that bulls are mated to heifers and cows, replacement heifers are retained and all remaining progeny are marketed at weaning. Traits included in the HB index include Calving Ease Direct, Calving Ease Maternal, Weaning Weight, Milk, Mature Weight, Heifer Pregnancy and Stayability (Index/High Value).
GM..... GridMaster is a selection index that predicts the average economic difference of non-replacement calves through the postweaning phase of production. GM places selection pressure on growth, feedyard performance and carcass traits. Expressed as dollars per head born, GM is calculated based on the scenario that progeny are fed out to slaughter and marketed on a quality-based carcass grid. Traits included in GM include Average Daily Gain, Carcass Weight, Dry Matter Intake, Marbling, Back Fat and Rib Eye Area (Index/High Value).
CED Calving Ease Direct predicts differences in the percent of calves born unassisted out of 2-year-old dams. (Percent/High Value)
