Cover up. Wear light coloured, long sleeved shirts, pants and a wide-brimmed hat. Be sure your sunglasses provide protection from both UVA and UBA rays. Limit your time in the sun. Keep out of the sun between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. When your shadow is shorter than you, the sun is the strongest. Look for places that provide shade and always bring an umbrella to the beach. Use the UV Index forecast. Listen to the local radio or TV station to find out what the UV Index is going to be. Anything 3 or higher, wear protective clothing, sunglasses and sunscreen. Use Sunscreen! Drink plenty of cool liquids (especially water). This should be done before you feel thirsty. When the days are sunny, hot and humid, stay hydrated to avoid Heat Stroke. Thirst is not a good indicator of DID YOU KNOW YOUR SUNSCREEN dehydration! HAS AN EXPIRY DATE !? DOUBLE Avoid tanning beds. If you CHECK YOUR SUNSCREEN BEFORE do use them, understand the APPLYING! NO ONE risks and how to protect LIKES BEING A yourself! LOBSTER!
Choose a high SPF Look for “water resistant” Read Application instructions Use lots of sunscreen Apply it early & reapply often Protect yourself Test for an allergic reaction Babies 6 months and younger should not wear sunscreen, keep them out of the sun!
