Hunterdon Healthcare to host Facebook Chat on Zika Virus Hunterdon Healthcare will host a Facebook chat on Wednesday, March 9, at noon to discuss the Zika virus. Participants may post their questions on Zika to the Hunterdon Healthcare page and have them answered by an expert. While there hasn’t been an outbreak in New Jersey, this is an opportunity to learn about the virus and expel myths. Zika has attracted a significant amount of attention recently due to outbreaks in various areas, including Brazil and Puerto Rico. Zika is spread to people primarily through the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito. The most common symptoms of Zika are fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis (red eyes.) The chat will be moderated by Rose Puelle, Senior Director Population Health for Hunterdon HealthCare Partners. To join the chat, visit Facebook.com/HunterdonHealthcare.
