Whitehouse Rescue Squad members extend greetings and hopes that 2017 will bring good health and happiness to all in Readington Township. The members of the squad, with their extensive training, work seamlessly to provide valuable work for the squad’s two divisions: Emergency Medical Services and Rescue Services. The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) division is responsible for providing prehospital emergency care to all patients who require an ambulance. Members of the EMS division have over 200 hours of training and are Emergency Medical Technicans (EMTs). The division has training in oxygen, EPIPen, and Narcan administration, and in CPR/AED. EMS works with law enforcement, neighboring fire companies, other EMS agencies, and the squad’s own rescue services division. Several members of the squad assist with fundraising and other activities and do not need a background
in emergency medical services or require the desire to be a responder. These members come from a variety of different backgrounds including finance and IT. Volunteer positions are available. Chief Jeff Herzog has been with the Whitehouse Rescue Squad for over 25 years. He provides leadership and oversight for all operations and manages response to disasters such as Hurricane Sandy, Irene, Floyd and the 9/11 attacks. He has an extensive background in emergency services. Deputy Chief Zak Harabedian is responsible for the successful oversight of the EMS division. He is tasked with scheduling 24/7/365 coverage to the residents of Readington, Tewksbury, and Clinton Township. An ambulance remains ready to respond with at least two EMTs around the clock to ensure a rapid response. Harabedian is also responsible for ensuring the squad is up to date with all New Jersey
