We took 25 of our hardest working Year 7 students to see Peter Pan at MK Theatre. Students had the opportunity to witness a professional production, with amazing acting, stunning sets and costumes along with hilarious jokes, some of which were not supposed to happen. Students had an amazing time and didn’t stop talking about it all the way home.

What a fabulous start to the Academic Year in Art! We have had a wide range of events and milestones to celebrate from new cohorts commencing their GCSE and A Level journeys to creating pieces of recycled Art for the Mayor, included in the recent Remembrance Day wreath laying.
The beginning of each year welcomes our newest cohorts of GCSE and A Level students, who have thrown themselves into their courses with passion and enthusiasm. The standard of work and willingness to succeed has been exceptional These cohorts of students most definitely demonstrate our Lord Grey Values, in particular, ambition, curiosity and determination. We are very excited to guide and support these students on their journeys moving forward as they become more independent and skilled within their personal portfolios.
Recently, the Mayor of Milton Keynes asked local schools to contribute to her recycled poppy wreath making initiative, which were then laid at various sites throughout the area Our fantastic Art Ambassadors worked together to create a recycled poppy wreath using second hand and repurposed materials from the scrap store. These materials included old goal netting, bottle tops, mesh bags, an old bike tyre and much more! The creativity and ambition demonstrated by these students was out of this world Well done Ava, Daniel, Bisma and Ria!
On Tuesday, our Year 10 students embarked on an inspiring visit to London’s Design Museum. Departing school at 8:15 a.m., we arrived right on time at 10:15 a.m., ready to immerse ourselves in the world of design.
Students had the chance to explore an array of innovative works across various design fields, sketching and studying pieces up close to understand the thought processes behind each creation. One of the highlights of our day was visiting the "Designer Maker" exhibition, where students saw real-life examples from famous designers they’ve studied in class, such as Memphis, Bauhaus, and Gerrit Rietveld Seeing these works in person gave them a new perspective on design history and movements.
A particular treat was witnessing the evolution of product design, with iconic items like Apple products illustrating the shift in technology and user-centred design over the decades. Another memorable moment was an object talk on the history of the teapot, where students learned about its design journey from a simple utility item to a crafted piece of functional art
Our day concluded with a visit to the museum's gift shop, where students could explore a curated selection of unique and cleverly designed products, offering plenty of inspiration. It was a fantastic experience for all, giving students a deeper appreciation for design’s role in shaping everyday life We’re grateful to the Design Museum for a memorable day, and we look forward to future explorations in the world of design!
