We are incredibly proud to announce that Amber, one of our exceptional Sixth Form students at Lord Grey Academy, has been selected to represent Team GB in Cable Wakeboarding!
This is a phenomenal achievement and a true testament to Amber’s dedication, discipline, and passion for her sport. Cable Wakeboarding is a demanding discipline that combines strength, skill, and agility and Amber has proven she has what it takes to compete at the very highest level
What makes her accomplishment even more inspiring is how successfully she balances her elite-level training and competitions with her A Level studies Amber continues to demonstrate commitment not just on the water, but also in the classroom showing exactly what it means to live out our Lord Grey Values of Determination, Ambition, and Integrity.
We will be cheering her on as she takes on this exciting journey with Team GB and look forward to sharing updates as she competes internationally Amber’s success is a shining example of how our students can achieve greatness both academically and beyond the classroom.

As we come to the end of Summer Term 1, I want to take a moment to reflect on the progress, achievements, and growth we’ve seen across our school community. This term has been full of energy, learning, and collaboration, and I am incredibly proud of how our students, staff, and families have worked together to make it a success
Our students have continued to impress us with their enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment to learning From academic achievements to extracurricular accomplishments, their resilience and positive attitude have truly shone through - Year 10 students completed their Work Experience this week - Year 11, 13 and some Year 12 have started their final examinations They have put in so much hard work and effort- we truly appreciate how hard they have worked and wish them luck! Thanks, as always, to my teaching staff and support staff for their part in this.
Our dedicated staff have played an essential role in creating a positive, nurturing environment where every student feels supported and inspired Their professionalism, care, and innovative approaches to teaching continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our learners
Parents and carers, your partnership is invaluable Your involvement, encouragement, and trust help strengthen our school community, and we are grateful for your continued support
As we head into the half-term break, I hope everyone finds time to rest and recharge Let’s take pride in what we’ve accomplished so far and look ahead with excitement to the final term of the school year. There is much more to achieve, and I am confident that, together, we will finish the year with the same determination and positivity we’ve shown all term.

A big shout out to Tyler for smashing it at the Football Tournament in Skegness! With grit and determination right to the final whistle, he helped take the team all the way to the Final. And the winning streak continues Tyler’s team are now champions of the Sunday U14 Youth Football League!

Sweet day in Spanish! Our amazing Year 9 Spanish students baked "palmeritas" and they were absolutely DELICIOUS!

The Year 7 Rounders team played their first match against Milton Keynes Academy. They delivered an outstanding performance, winning 16-11! They all had excellent determination and ambition throughout the game. Well done, year 7!


Sporting updates
A superb victory for the Boys’ Cricket U15 team in their first game of the year against Shenley Brook End last week. Sixes and Wickets Galore!


Many congratulations to Alfie and Rowan on winning the Under 16s Cup at the MK Dons Stadium on Saturday.
The team were strong and dominated the game winning 2-0 It was such an honour to watch you play and demonstrate such teamwork and skills.
Girls’ cricket has seen great development over the last few years and this year the U13 Girls Cricket team have been entered into a plate competition The girls had a nailbiting first game against Radcliffe School with a 53-52 loss. This was a fantastic result as 5 members of the team had never played a cricket fixture before Well done to the team, they are all looking forward to the next round of games

Careers updates
Our Year 9s had the opportunity and privilege to attend a DHL employability workshop at their Digital Centre in Milton Keynes
They had the opportunity of visiting different departments on site and saw how the warehouse operates, which helped allow students to explore potential careers, identify talent, develop skills and gain an insight into the world of work and opened their minds up to new career ideas they never knew existed. They also enjoyed some Pizza!
The group were absolutely amazing from start to finish, they were full of curiosity and their civility was outstanding.

Before the Easter break, a selection of 30 students was able to experience an amazing time in Tuscany where they had many opportunities to use the language, appreciate the local culture and enjoy the history of the area. The students had a truly unforgettable adventure and represented the school impeccably Lord Grey Can Travel the World!

Student Leadership - Year 10 and Year 11 Students who completed the Activity Volunteer Programme will have their certificates handed out next half term in assemblies to all successful students Some students who have completed the award will be assisting in Sports Days at Abbeys Primary School in July or will continue to help run school clubs for KS3 students
Sixth Form Sport Leaders - Have been attending Slated Row School to deliver athletics lunch time clubs and help prepare students for their sports day (see attached photos). They are close to completing their award and are looking forward to using it to continue to help run extracurricular clubs for students
School Council have also elected new Co-Chairs. Congratulations to the Year 12 students Orla Carder, Giulia Falagone and Elise Grayson for being successfully elected as Co-Chairs of the Student Council They are excited to start their term and increase fundraising events and initiatives through school.

Year 7

Following poet Karl Nova’s visit to Lord Grey Academy this World Book Day, Oyln was inspired to write this brilliant piece of poetry. It’s wonderful to see the immediate impact that a visitor can have when it comes to unlocking creativity and inspiring young writers

Well done to our year 7 students who continue to shine in their lessons and display our Lord Grey Way. We are so proud of your achievements and continue to reach for the stars displaying Determination in all that you do.


The Year 7 Netball team took part in the semi finals at Watling Academy recently. Although we didn't make it to the finals, we couldn't be prouder of how far they've come. Finished 4th overall in the MK schools league!
Every single one of the students gave their all and showed incredible determination and ambition. An additional well done for all year 7 students that have represented the Netball team throughout the year!
Please can students have all the necessary equipment to succeed in their lessons.
Massive congrats to the Lord Grey Yr 7 Football Team – finished the season in STYLE MK District Cup Champions
After a nail-biting match vs Oakgrove, they sealed the win 4-3 on penalties! Ice in their veins. Undefeated all season.
Year 8
Year 8 have been superstars this half term! ... and extremely busy!
We are so proud of the Civility, Determination, Ambition, Integrity and Curiosity that you have shown over the last half term We have been on walks around your lessons over the last few weeks, and the quality of work we are seeing is fantastic.
In Year 8 there are now several students that have achieved over 400 Value Points, Doroteja, Ava - well done to you, your hard work and dedication to your studies is shining through Students with over 300 Value include Georgie, Ollie, Mikey, Summer, Archie, Hannah, Peyton, Charlie G, Jessica, Niamh, Ryan K, Amina A, Savannah, Anna

Year 8 had an anti-bullying workshop recently where they interacted together, listened carefully and showed empathy, respect and maturity when they were offering their views, and joining in with class discussions I was lucky enough to be present for some of this and I would like to shout out Miss Brett's and Miss Bailey's forms. The maturity and empathy you displayed in your answers was fantastic to see.
I would also like to shout out, Mr Bellemy-Woods 08XKr/SC The feedback from your Teacher this week has been incredible Fantastic work, keep it up
PE Class - 08XD/PC - Absolutely smashed with with Ms Dunn - Tennis pros in the making.
Mrs Stevens went to see a food technology class, where the students were making Spaghetti Carbonara, there was so fantasic cooking going on and the team work I saw as I went around with peers helping each other was just brilliant to see

There have been so many positives this last term. So many certificates given out, so many positive emails from teachers We had parents evening which was a huge success

Year 10
Work Experience
For The last week of the half term we have the majority of year 10 out on work experience placements Students have picked their own placement, and are working in various different organisations throughout Milton Keynes. We are so proud of our students and how the have prepared for work experience In form every Monday, year 10 have worked through employability skills, cv writing, and work place manner, in order to help prepare them for their placements We are very proud of them .
DHL OUTWARD BOUND
We also have 20 students who have gone to wales with DHL,to experience a wonderful residential trip in wales These students had to apply and also interview to be a part of this opportunity and we're specially selected by DHL staff. We are so proud of all of their efforts and we cannot wait to hear about how they are getting on when we get back from the May half term break
Work experience week at school
We have several students who are completing their work experience week with us at school They have been enjoying several workshops about employability skills, business creation and confidence building They have all done so well and have shown real maturity, determination and enthusiasm!

Our amazing Year 10 Spanish students stepped out of the classroom and onto the dance floor last term!
A huge thank you to Romeo Dance Academy for teaching them some incredible salsa & bachata moves! What a fun way to embrace Spanish language and traditions! Who’s ready for the next dance session?






Year 11
Our amazing Y11 German students had a Pizza Night to fuel up and relax before their GCSE Speaking Exams Wishing them all viel Glück (good luck), you've got this!




Massive well done to Samuel W who has been playing volleyball for MK City. They have had an undefeated season!




Well done to Oscar has had an amazing first season in a mens darts team, and he was picked for county two months ago. A great achievement.
A final sporting well done to Tommy S who also competed in a football tournament with MK Irish up in Doncaster and won!
Good luck to Y11 in their final GCSE examinations. Well done for all of the hard work you have put in so far and continue to show determination within your studies. Keep up the good work, we are so proud of you no matter what the outcome is come August. Ms Whalley, Miss Norman and Mrs Andrews.
Sixth Form
We were incredibly lucky for a small group of our Business students to be invited to attend 'The Road Ahead' workshop at The Volkswagen Group HQ in Milton Keynes.
Students heard about all of the brands within the VW Group and had a really insightful opportunity to practice our speaking and listening skills through interview role plays. Students gained an insight into opportunities in the business and heard from current Apprentice's about their experiences in the recruitment process, including hearing from undergrads on a year in industry.
The day ended on a high with students having the opportunity to experience Virtual reality and looking at the high-tech electric cars





HELPING WITH Y10 WEX WEEK


Y12 students assisted with sessions for Y10 WEX week. Their project included delivering and supporting students to access the national Young Enterprise 10X Challenge. Year 10s were tasked to create their own Business offering a service or product, to produce a Business Name, Logo, Business plan, Budget sheet and to present their ideas. Many thanks to the Sixth Form students for volunteering in their own study time.
CHARITY CHAMPIONS
Sixth Form charity champions organised a bake sale to celebrate International Nurses Day
We are very thankful for the continued support that the Lord Grey community show to this team of volunteers. We raised a total of: £206.50, raising our current total to: £385.08 for Milton Keynes Hospital Charity.
ATTENDANCE
Well done to Y12 for achieving fantastic attendance this year, they are 3% above last years cohort and we are proud of the efforts they are making through their real unit exams for some, and in their preparation for their mock examinations in June

Well done to 12CSE for claiming back the Sixth Form Quiz Trophy for the third time!

Carnegies
This term, during library lessons, our KS3 students had the chance to read extracts from several of the books shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal for Writing Amongst these book, we count Clare Furniss’ heartbreaking dystopia The Things We Leave Behind, which explores the consequences of isolationism and authoritarianism; Nathanael Lessore’s hilarious King of Nothing, which explores questions of popularity and friendship as well as Matt Goodfellow’s verse novel The Final Year, which sensitively approaches questions of friendship and family.
Newspapers
During our KS3 library lessons, students also had the chance to learn about different types of newspaper articles, from news reports, to interviews and obituaries This will prepare our students for their GCSE English Language paper, during which students will learn about different types of non-fiction texts
The Big Book Review Presentations
This term, our KS3 students are working on their own book presentations, which will include a summary, a favourite quote, an illustration and a review This is an excellent opportunity for our students to share their interests with their peers all the while fostering a love of reading through peer-to-peer book recommendations
The Scholastic Book Fair will be coming to Lord Grey at the start of July! This is the perfect opportunity for students to choose a book for the summer break all the while supporting our library
