Our ultimate goal is for every child to leave not only with strong academic achievements but also with the skills and character to thrive in life beyond school.

Since joining Tove Trust in September 2021, Stantonbury School has made significant progress, reflected in our improved Ofsted rating. We are proud to have achieved a ‘Good’ rating in three out of five areas, with clear plans in place to continue strengthening the remaining areas.

Our commitment to continuous improvement is driven by collaboration—with students, staff, and parents all playing a vital role. Ofsted highlighted that “community engagement is at the heart of the school’s improvement journey”, reinforcing our belief that working together leads to success.

KEY STAGE 3

KEY STAGE 4 KEY STAGE 5

(YEAR 7 - 9) (YEAR 10 - 11) (YEAR 12 - 13)

This provides the foundation for any child’s achievement. The transition from Primary to Secondary education is marked by a move to subject specific teaching staff.

All students study English, mathematics, science, design technology, information and communication technology, history, geography, religious studies, modern languages, music, drama, dance, food and nutrition, art, physical education and PSHCE. Initially, all students are taught in mixed ability groups with the exception of mathematics where setting is introduced from Year 7.

At this stage, all students follow a core curriculum of mathematics, English, science, religious education, physical education and PSHCE.

In addition, students choose three options which allow them to pursue individual interests and strengths. This versatility in the curriculum is intended to allow each young person at Stantonbury School to find their own route to personal achievement.

A significant proportion of our Year 11 students continue their education in the Sixth Form and they are joined by an increasing number from other schools and locations.

Study options are varied; a broad range of academic and vocational choices are complemented by courses which deliver skills and understanding which may be applied in a variety of contexts. These combinations are intended to prepare students for their individual futures, whether that is entering the world of work, degree apprenticeships or preparing for university interviews.

Extra-Curricular and Enrichment

Stantonbury School offers a wide range of opportunities beyond the classroom to help students grow, explore, and prepare for their futures.

Soon, we’ll be launching the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Bronze Award for Year 9 students - a fantastic chance to build confidence, resilience, and leadership skills.

Our students also enjoy enriching experiences through theatre and sporting trips, giving them access to culture and teamwork beyond the school walls.

We provide career guidance, including visits to career fairs, employer programmes, and higher education institutions.

Looking ahead, we’re also exploring the opportunity for a Mandarin cultural trip in 2026—just one more way we aim to broaden horizons and create unforgettable experiences for our students.

Student Enrichment programme

The student enrichment programme is designed to offer the opportunity for every student to grow, both personally and academically. By focusing on our core values of respect, responsibility, and resilience, we aim to provide opportunities that are accessible to all and encourage active participation and development.

The program will include a wide variety of activities, such as lunchtime and after-school clubs in areas such as tourism, debate, art, sports, coding, and performing arts. These will allow students to explore their interests, discover new talents, and value the strengths of others. We will endeavour to work with all key stakeholders to continue to create engaging opportunities that connect learning to real-life experiences.

To encourage teamwork and leadership, we will organise inter-house competitions in academics, culture, and sports. These activities will build important life skills such as resilience, confidence and creativity, and also build an ability to work with others.

Student Leadership Skills

To develop and empower student leaders who can take on responsibilities, contribute positively to school culture, and promote collaboration among peers, teachers, and the broader community.

The school will foster a culture of active student involvement which will enhance student leadership skills, and create a positive environment where students are empowered to take initiative and make a meaningful impact which we can grow into the next school year.
