“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.” Titus 2:11-14 – 2016/2017 Year Verse

LEADING THE WAY NEWS FROM IN & AROUND OUR SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY

What an exciting time it is to engage with the students of Trinity Oaks. It is my privilege to spend my days working with them as I experience their energy, enthusiasm, and inquisitive natures, especially at Christmas time. As you look through the Oak Leaf, you will gain a glimpse into the various activities our students have been engaged in as we celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Christmas chapel is always a highlight for me. What a blessing to see the students demonstrate and experience the true meaning of Christmas by giving to others. Trinity Oaks’ vision is to equip the next generation with wisdom, knowledge, and character in order to impact the world for Christ with servants’ hearts. In this issue of the Oak Leaf, we catch up with one of the previous generations, the class of 2012, as they have moved on from high school to college and continue to discover and develop their God-given gifts and abilities. It will be exciting to see where God leads each of these Trinity Oaks alumni in the years to come. Through your prayerful support of Trinity Oaks Christian Academy we can continue our ministry. Thank you for believing in our vision of equipping future generations with wisdom, knowledge and character. Dr. Paul Wrobbel Head of School

The experiences at TOCA were good, gave me a well-rounded background in education, and a good Christian background.

Academically, my transition into high school was very smooth. Sophomore year of high school, after transferring to the Classical Consortium, many of the teachers were impressed with my writing, rhetoric, and timemanagement skills that I had acquired at TOCA.

In terms of my spiritual journey, TOCA surrounded me with a fantastic group of believers and helped me build a rock solid foundation.

TOCA helped me become a stronger person and see the potential I have inside of me and the gifts God has given me. Ms. Grosser left a huge impact by challenging me to do my best in everything that I did. Also to remember if no one is standing with me, know that God is!

TOCA definitely improved my work ethic and prepared me especially for major projects in high school. I was able to take several honors classes in high school and still not notice an increase in work demands from my training TOCA. I wasn't a great student at TOCA or in high school but I was a better student because of TOCA.

TOCA is where I began to really develop a relationship with God.

Dr. Wrobbel is a man that does a great job leading the school and whom many look up to. He believes in the potential of each student! Transitioning into high school, I felt very prepared to take high level courses, including honors and AP courses. TOCA also provided me with a strong faith foundation. Going into a public high school, I felt strong and confident in my faith after having been prepared through a Christian education.

I really appreciate the fact that the memorization of Bible verses was so highly valued at TOCA. Many of the passages that I memorized years ago have stuck with me and continue to speak to me today. My basketball Coach Jeff Hodge left a HUGE impact on me. Spiritually, he set a wonderful example of what it looks like to live for Christ. As a basketball coach, he instilled discipline, teamwork, and integrity in all of his players. We developed a strong personal connection, and I can say with certainty that he helped me become a much more disciplined person, better teammate, more versatile athlete, and stronger follower of Christ.
