RUGBY

Success for Max Hunwick at the recent Hauraki Plains College hosted Clay Target Shoot, held at the Thames Clay Target Club. Max won the Junior Open Class in the Single Rise Discipline. To achieve this, Max had to break 20 consecutive clays to score 20/20 in the initial round. In the shoot off for the places, Max held his nerve to break another 4 consecutive clays, thus securing 1st place. Max, a Year 10 student, is in his second year with the Matamata College Clay Target team. Congratulations to Max (pictured right).

ANZAC Assembly The School ANZAC service, one of the School’s most formal occasions, was held on Tuesday morning, May 1st.

The student body are to be congratulated for the positive behaviour and respect shown throughout the service.

The previous week as is tradition, our Head students spoke at the Civic and Walton services and their speeches were once again the highlights of each service. My congratulations and thanks to Rueben, Kate, Harrison and Brooke, (pictured above at Walton) for their high quality speeches and for representing Matamata College so well.

How do I Pay? 

Fees are to be paid to Matamata College by Friday 31 August 2018



Paying your fees will enable your results to be recorded on your Record of Achievement and for any qualifications to be awarded



If you have not paid the school on time you will have to pay NZQA directly

Can I Get Help to Pay? You can apply for financial assistance to pay your fees. To get this help your parents or caregivers must meet one of the following conditions: 

be receiving a Work and Income or StudyLink benefit or have a Community Services Card



have joint family income that qualifies for a Community Services Card



have two or more children entered as candidates with fees more than $200.

How do I Get Help to Pay? To get financial assistance you have to fill in a Financial Assistance form. You can collect this from Student Reception or the Front Office or download it from the NZQA website at: www.nzqa.govt.nz/financialassistance. Completed application forms must be returned to Student Reception or the Front Office by Friday 31 August.

Number of children who are candidates: One candidate Two or more candidates *

Fee-payer is eligible for beneficiary or incomebased assistance. $20.00*

Fee-payer is not eligible for beneficiary or incomebased assistance.

A maximum of $30.00* per family

A maximum of $200.00* per fee payer.

Fuel for Schools—School Sponsorship Programme

Customers can nominate a participating school to receive 50 cents for every 100L of bulk fuel they have delivered. Once a participating school reaches their $1,000 target/goal, they can redeem from the 40 plus technology and sports packages on offer. It is that simple! The more people involved and nominating a school the sooner they will be rewarded.
