abitat for Humanity Coweta recently revealed what is thought to be the county’s largest “Little Free Library.” The free book exchange measures approximately 91 inches in height, 74 inches in width and 22 inches in length and is located at the Division of Family and Children’s Services. The organization donated the library to DFCS, which is located at 533 Highway 29 N. in Newnan. “We are truly excited to be partnering with DFCS,” said Habitat Executive Director Cristina Bowerman said in a statement. The library will give children who are waiting for services at DFCS access to the books.

A ribbon cutting was held to officially reveal the library July 14. “Many thanks to everyone who came out for the Little Free Library ribboncutting ceremony,” Bowerman wrote in a Facebook post. “The library will be registered through www.littlefreelibrary.org, which means it can be found by anyone seeking a Little Free Library in Newnan.” The unveiling also included a look at recent changes to Newnan’s DFCS building and adjoining playground. A new and inviting playground was completed for children to enjoy during supervised visits with their families and during meetings and other events at the Newnan office, thanks to an outpouring of support from the community.
