A LETTER FROM THE CEO'S

UNLEASHING POSSIBILITY TOGETHER !

We share a passion for TRANSFORMATION in neighborhoods that have been left out and left behind. I'm Josh, CEO of Neighborhood, and for seventeen years, I've called one of these neighborhoods home. It's shaped my worldview, revealing vibrant communities filled with 'Unleashed Possibility.' Witnessing the intersection of GRIT, DETERMINATION, & MOTIVATION firsthand inspired the creation of Neighborhood.

At Neighborhood, we've seen the power of robust workforce development training coupled with love and wraparound support. Our programs highlight the incredible transformation and empowerment that is not just possible but inevitable.

Brad here, and I already know that TRANSFORMATION and 'Unleashed Possibility' are priorities for you as you have invested in CIG. I want you to know that our Community Partnership with Neighborhood is more than shared impact; it's an acknowledgement and celebration of the inherent capabilities and aspirations of individuals in these communities.

Together, we believe that given the opportunity and the right support, individuals in any neighborhood can thrive, excel, and contribute to the TRANSFORMATION of their community from the inside out. Our partnership embodies 'Unleashed Possibility' IN ACTION, standing as a beacon of collective dedication for Community Empowerment here in Hampton Roads.

At CIG one of our goals is to demonstrate GENEROSITY and support organizations that bring about SOLUTIONS that make the needle of transformation move in the right direction. We are asking that you take a few minutes and consider this proposal. The following pages will detail Neighborhood's program specifics and the potential life-altering impact our collaboration can bring about with your help.

02 THE OPPORTUNITY

If you are investing with

, we know how much you already value reinvesting into the local community. What CIG understands best is that building impactful on-the-ground solutions to problems as complex as poverty can be difficult without the right partners. It can leave even the most well-intended individuals and companies feeling like their contributions aren’t being maximized.

Our team at Neighborhood has spent over two decades of collective time developing and implementing a career program for our neighbors that is ready to be expanded; providing every individual from a low-income community an opportunity to earn a living wage. CIG is now a part of that team and we want you to join us.

We’re all excited to dream with you about ensuring the income of every family in Hampton Roads surpasses the cost of living within our lifetime!

Each of our "Leaders" depends on the life-changing impact Neighborhood provides over the course of the 6-month program.

"Leader" is the term for a Neighborhood program participant..

04 THE NEIGHBORHOOD DIFFERENCE

THE GOAL

Because poverty is simply a lack of money, we must assist people in gaining employment that pays them living-wages, in careers where they can grow and remain.

STABILITY REQUIRED

Not everyone in poverty is ready to focus specifically on training for full-time employment. We work within communities to find those ready for the journey.

SUPPORT

In order to expand access, we work specifically with a handful of niche-based nonprofit organizations that can provide targeted support for individuals who wish to enroll in Neighborhood, but are facing significant barriers like transportation or childcare.

6 MONTHS TO LAUNCH

Those already unable to keep up with their financial needs don’t have 2 to 4 years to complete a degree. We target career pathways that provide short, quality pathways from training to employment.

LIFETIME OF INVESTMENT

We're community-based for a reason, because the journey doesn't end with graduation. To eradicate poverty, we offer ongoing support and resources to tackle potential setbacks and barriers for years to come.

Shenel, referred to us through our partnership with the Chesapeake Housing Authority, overcame a challenging upbringing marked by substance abuse and homelessness. Determined to advocate for others facing similar hardships, she pursued a Legal Office Admin certificate through Neighborhood.
