2023-2024 LEVEL I INFORMATION FORM Level I Excursions are those which take students to familiar settings within the local area for day­time activities which expose students to risks typically encountered in everyday living or while at school and which involve local transportation ­either by walking, subway, city bus, school bus, or taxi. Examples of Level I Excursions: trips to museums, local parks, a local store or neighbourhood, a library, an art studio, a concert hall, a theatre, another school, or athletic facility. Parental consent for Level I Excursions is given at the beginning of each school year.

DATES: Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 -10_ENG_3 and 10_ENG_4 Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 -10_ENG_1 and 10_ENG_2 TIMES: -Students will meet in the learning commons at 12:20PM and leave school at 12:30PM -The show begins at 1:30PM -The running time is approximately 90 minutes with no intermission -Students will leave the theatre at approximately 3:15PM -Students will return to school by 4:00PM TRAVEL: -Students will be taking the TTC. -We will be getting on the subway at Summerhill Station and getting off at King Station. We will then take the 503 Streetcar east to Logan Ave. and walk to the theatre from there. -Students should bring TTC fare

Red Sandcastle Theatre 922 Queen St. East Grade 10 students will be attending Eldritch Theatre’s production of Macbeth. Students will be studying the play for their final unit.. They will explore the themes of the show and how they are communicated through use of language. In addition, they will be studying various adaptations of the show. Eldritch Theatre’s adaptation features a solo actor who retells the story using puppets, masks, and magic. It is sure to be a unique experience! The York School

Sun Protection: Where a trip involves your child being outside between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, or the UV rating is predicted to be 3 or greater, remind parents to provide children with the following: sunscreen, hat and water bottle. Sunglasses that protect against UV-A and UV-B rays are also recommended.
