SIGN UP FOR TWO WEEKS OF ADVENTURE THIS SUMMER Warwick is hosting EuroCamp 2020, bringing together 20 young people from our international twin towns for two weeks of adventure and a creative project.

Warwick Town Council is looking for four young people, aged 16 to 21 who live in the CV34 area, to take part and host our visiting guests this summer.

You’ll meet and form friendships with other young people from our twin towns of Saumur (France), Verden & Havelberg (Germany), and Formigine (Italy).

Funded by the Town Council, you’ll stay at Warwick Racecourse and enjoy two weeks of unique experiences, adventurous activities and a collaborative creative project to celebrate Warwick.

The opportunity enables you to learn key skills, build new international friendships and gain a unique experience to big up on your CV or UCAS application.

Thursday, 27 February 2020 from 10.00am - 12.00pm The Royal Pump Rooms, Leamington Spa Help shape Warwickshire County Council’s Heritage and Culture Strategy 2020 - 2025 The Warwickshire Heritage and Culture Strategy 2020 - 2025 was developed by Warwickshire County Council (WCC) in collaboration with more than 80 sector organisations and individual practitioners. The next step is to work together to develop an ambitious but workable action plan to take the strategy forward.

This is one of eight (free) two-hour workshops across the county so that existing and new partners can contribute their ideas and suggestions. Five of the workshops will focus on different parts of the county - the other three will focus on one of the strategy’s key themes: health and wellbeing, sense of place and economic vibrancy. This workshop focuses on economy. You are welcome to attend more than one session but you need to book each one separately - by Monday January 20, please.

The workshop format will be fairly informal and you don’t have to bring anything along - just your expertise and ideas.

This is a really exciting project for the local heritage and culture sector - so we do hope you can join us for at least one of the workshops.

with Hatton Adventure World on Sunday 3rd May 2020. This is a colour fun run, you will not be timed, it is a chance to enjoy the beautiful surroundings with family and friends whilst being doused in different coloured paints as you complete each kilometre.

Macmillan Cancer Support know that being told you have cancer

can affect so much more than your health - it can also affect your family, your job and even your ability to pay the bills. But you’re still you. We get that. And, after over 100 years of helping people through cancer, we get what’s most important: that you’re treated as a person, not just a patient.

Warwick Half Marathon

Every Saturday until 25th May 2019 1.00pm - 3.30pm

Join us and thousands of other supporters at the Warwick Half Marathon in 2020, all united in the fight against heart disease.

Starting out from Warwick Racecourse this is your opportunity to be part of a great day.

This Half Marathon course is suitable for all abilities and covers a 13.1 mile traffic free route. The route takes in the beautiful countryside of Warwickshire, starting and finishing at the Racecourse. The route is entirely on tarmac roads.

This event, open to anyone over 17 years of age, requires you to dig deep as you make the final push for the finish line but you’ll have an immense sense of pride on completing the half marathon. Starting out from Warwick Racecourse, the route follows one circular loop on traffic free, tarmac roads and is suitable for wheelchair users.

We’re delighted to announce that this event is now UKA affiliated, so you can count it towards your official times this running season.

Snowdrops are the star of show; over 100 varieties can be seen on the trail around the gardens. Victorian varieties can be seen along with more modern varieties, including our own ‘Warwickshire Gemini’. There will also be a large landscaped display of many varieties, including the honey scented S Arnott, set in the warmth of the Visitor Centre.

Named snowdrops will be on sale along with other winter plants and bulbs, and refreshments will be available in the Cafe.

Half Term

Hill Close Gardens are also open for a special Snowdrop Day at the end of the half term holiday (Saturday 16th February) in aid of the National Gardens Scheme.

Entry is £4.50 for adults and £1 for children (5-17yrs).
