Fun Park Any trip to St Nicholas Park simply has to include the Fun Park!

ST NICHOLAS PARK Sitting beside the River Avon and

Once meadow land, known as St. Nicholas Meadow, the site was purchased by Warwick Borough Council in the 1930’s in response to the town’s growth, with ‘formal and children’s gardens’ being laid out. Following World War II, the eastern side of the meadow was laid out as playing fields. There was also an outdoor swimming pool for public use and the cottages in the park by the brook were at that time a watermill, would you believe?! Today, well it has just about everything a park could wish for!

Play Area Every park needs a playground - and at St Nicholas Park there’s a whole world of adventure!

The play area is ideal for kids up to the age of 12, with activities designed for younger children as well as older, more adventurous kids.

‘cheap as chips’ chocolate pots

Ingredients

Top each pot with a dollop of fromage frais and decorate with chocolate sprinkles and a white chocolate star.

Method

- Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water then leave to cool for 10 minutes.

- Beat the egg yolks, sweetener and rum into the cooled chocolate.

- Whisk the egg whites until just stiff but not too dry then fold into the chocolate.

- Transfer the mixture into small serving glasses (shot glasses are ideal) and chill for 1 hour or until set.

• 60g dark plain chocolate • 3 eggs, separated • 3-4 tbsp sweetener • 2 tbsp dark rum • 4 tbsp fat free natural fromage frais, sweetened to taste • 1 level tbsp chocolate sprinkles, to decorate • 4 white chocolate stars, to decorate

Warwick Walks 2017 Further to its successful introduction in 2016, registered Blue Badge Tour Guides Gary Millward, Peter Douce and Dave Fisher are emerging from their Winter hibernation to announce news of walks in Warwick throughout 2017. The trio all live in the Heart Of England, based in Warwick, Kenilworth and Birmingham respectively.

The walk focuses on the people and places that have made the town of Warwick a must see for UK and overseas visitors alike and lasts approximately 90 mins. will be on the weekend of 12th - 14th May For the second time ever it includes the Rugby4Heroes Elite7s rugby tournament in addition to our popular mens and ladies tens rugby and a much bigger mini and junior rugby festival too.

This will be an amazing opportunity for visitors and residents in Warwick to learn and enjoy all aspects of food and drink.

Last year was a huge success and we’re building on that once more.

Warwick’s newest Food & Drink Festival will be a celebration of the town’s fantastic restaurants, bars, and cafes, as well as some of the finest regional food & drink producers.

More Rugby tournaments, more live music, more real ale, more great street food and lots of family entertainment with all the usual fun and shenanigans!

Come and join us for a day of great food, cooking demonstrations and entertainment.

Also, enjoy the special offers from local pubs and restaurants in and around the town.

Join us for the full weekend of camping or just for one of the nights or days of live music and rugby.

You can camp onsite for the entire event or simply come along to the daytime or evening party. It’s all up to you and all in aid of our nominated Armed Forces charities.

Last year we got a another big step towards our £100,000 target. We’re currently on £78,000 donated to Armed Forces charities so far and we’d love to climb to the next rung on the ladder.

We have an amazing weekend of Rugby, music, food, real ale and family fun planned. We even have a visit planned for the fourth year running by the Royal Air Force!

We’ll have street food on site all weekend from clay oven pizzas to BBQ food and tempting sweet treats. We’ll also have a fully stocked bar with real ales from local suppliers, our popular wine tasting marquee as well as copious amounts of lager, cider, spirits, and soft drinks for the drivers and children.

Under 18s go FREE! We just ask for a small contribution for 11 - 16 year olds if they camp for the weekend - it’s only a fiver!

Gardener’s Guided Walk at Hill Close Gardens
