Students and families wishing to walk in a group (also known as a “walking school bus”) are welcome to meet either at the Barnes & Noble downtown or at the intersection of 12th and Adams in Linntown.

The meeting times will be at 7am downtown and 7:25am in Linntown for the Middle School and 8am and 8:15am for Linntown Elementary.

Students from Linntown Elementary and Donald H. Eichhorn Middle School are encouraged to walk and roll to school on Wednesday, Oct 10, along with their friends and parents.

Students can walk any day and in many conditions, but in the event of rain, this event will move to Thursday, Oct 11.

Walk to School Day events raise awareness of the need to create safer routes for walking and bicycling and emphasize the importance of issues such as increasing physical activity among children, pedestrian safety, traffic congestion and concern for the environment.

The events build connections between families, schools, and the broader community.
