Jim Laurie Trophy
By ACU South Midland Management
At the end of 2019, Lorna and Terry Edwards retired from the committee of Kensworth Schoolboy Motocross Club. They had spent some 20 years working for the youngsters of the club and helped it become one of the top youth motocross clubs in the country, with several top 3 placings in the Compass Cup over the last few years lets hope that continues under the "New Management".

I was very pleased to pop across to their home and sit, "socially distanced" to give them the lovely Jim Laurie Trophy which dates back to 1946, along with an engraved vase memento and bouquet of flowers.
Terry, Lorna and the club committee have organised events every few weeks at top venues all over the country and the faithful following, knowing that thanks to the clubs hard work, they will have a great days racing, travel far and wide for the thrills, enjoyment and companionship that running with the club brings.
Lorna and Terry were up against some very worthy competition in the race to find the 2019 winner of the coveted Jim Laurie Trophy, which is presented to a member, in this case members, of ACU South
Midland who run things behind the scenes, but don't always receive the recognition they deserve. Riders can win the Centre Championship or even Club Championship Trophies but this is for the "workers".
Many congratulations .
