Welcome to Key Club! Main Key Club Events By Becky D'Albero and Cory Ott CSH stands for Children’s Specialized Hospital. Volunteers meet there every third Saturday of the month to help out with the kids there and play with them. Every year MAST Kay Club does two main events with CSH outside of Rec Therapy every month: the Fall Party, and the Prom (in the spring). This year the Fall Party will be held around midNovember. The Fall Party is a huge event with all the children at CSH plus their families. There's music, dancing, fun crafts and games for the kids and volunteers to do together. Volunteers are needed to go so contact Danielle Ciaurro or Alex Gordon with any questions regarding CSH. The Par Garden, garden in Middletown, is a volunteer project in front of the Presbyterian Church. The garden is used to produce the food that the church uses to feed the hungry. The food is then donated to the Lunch Break in Red Bank, a local food shelter. This garden has been
known to produce over 1000 pounds of food per year and looks incredible on the property of the church. The garden is tended to about once a month for two hours in the afternoon. During this time the volunteers water, harvest, plant or weed to help the garden flourish. If you are interested in joining this project see Mr. Ellithorpe or Senorita for questions and permission slips. Glory is a Tanzanian girl that we, the MAST Key Club, sponsor an education for. Last year alone we raised over $3,000 through fundraisers. We also have written short letters that have been delivered to her. In fact, we’ve even gotten responses from her. For those who don’t know, Eliminate, is a project in which Key Clubbers attempt to raise money to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus from countries around the world. The MAST Key Club has had many fundraisers this past year to help out and throughout many Key Clubs, we have decreased the number of countries with Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus down to 32!

November 2012 Issue Four Square Tournament By Leor Golan FeHello fellow Key Clubbers! The M.A.S.T. Key Club is hosting the second annual four square tournaments is November. Keep your eyes open for announcements and permission slips. The event is open to anyone that attends M.A.S.T. and is looking forward to having a blast. The tournament costs ten dollars, which includes admission, pizza, and a drink. Just grab a partner and sign up when permission slips are released. The winning team will have their names placed on a trophy, where everyone can see. Please encourage others to attend in order to raise money for the eliminate project. All payments will go towards the cause against fighting maternal and neonatal tetanus.
Fall Rally By Alyssa van Doorn MAST, are you motivated for this service year?! You should be after this year's Olympic-themed Fall Rally at Six Flags Great Adventure! For those who don't know, Fall Rally is one of two major district-wide events during the service year. Key clubs from all over the New Jersey District gather to get pepped for service. The

caring day started off with the rally where roll call was done for each division, then we heard from many Lieutenant Governors, including our Division 8 LTG, Tracy Vollbrecht. There were speeches by District Governor Nicole Ventrone, our Keynote Speaker and Kiwanis District Governor Joesph Teti, and the District Governor of CircleK. We learned that MNT has now been eliminated from four more countries with our help. After the rally, we spent the rest of the day with our friends and fellow Key Clubbers roaming around the park on rides and having fun. The weather wasn't the best but that didn't stop anyone from having a great day. If you didn't go this year, it should definitely be on the to-do list for next year.

Students Walk to Fight Hunger By Jessie Casamassima

On October 21, nineteen MAST students attended the Red Bank CROP walk. The CROP Walk is an annual walk to aid those who do not have enough to eat, both in our local communities and around the world. Groups are asked to bring items, including peanut butter, beans, and rice, to donate to the CROP Walk food drive. These items are being donated to local food pantries. Students dropped off items for the food drive in 77 for several weeks before the walk. In total, we collected 130 items for the drive. Students who attended the walk also collected monetary donations from their family and friends in the weeks leading up to the event. These funds are being donated to help feed the hungry overseas, mostly in impoverished third-world countries. In total, we collected $650.00 for the cause. In addition to collecting items for the food drive, collecting donations, and walking at the event, MAST also ran one of the water stations along the route. This was made possible by many students’ generous donations of cups and water. Great job MAST! Thank

Welcome to Key Club! By Alyssa van Doorn This is our welcome to Key Club news letter, so welcome! Key Club is a huge organization within our school; you have made a wonderful decision by joining our club. I as well as the other officers, thank you for joining this club and choosing to make a difference. This year will be full of hard work, but also a lot of fun. I'm ready for a great service year, I hope you are too!

an annual achievement report before District Convention. One section of the form is labeled service hours and the secretary must record how many hours the club completed over the service year. Our club is notorious for completing many service projects and not properly recording the hours completed. To make sure that each Key Clubber has recorded their hours they have completed, the officers are asking you to fill out a mandatory Key Club hours survey sent out at the end of each month. Please take two minutes to fill out the form as it will bring the club success. Do not hesitate to ask questions if you have any about the form. Take note of the survey application deadline. The club will keep track of who is recording their hours. Please make sure that if you do not have hours you are indicating so on the form. Remember that we are a service based club so try your best to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the club to go out there and perform great acts of service.
