Pingry thrives thanks to the dedication and generosity of our families. Educating the whole child is a partnership. Your involvement, through volunteering and giving, helps sustain the programs and excellence that define Pingry.

Welcome to the New Academic Year!

Pingry draws its strength not only from our traditions and programs, but from the people who bring these valuable elements to life every day. As a wise faculty member once said decades ago, “What I value most about Pingry is that here it is still possible in a fragmented world to believe enthusiastically in people — in students and teachers who work a little harder and care a little more.”

We’re grateful for the wonderful partnership we have with our Pingry families, and we continue to encourage your active participation in the life of our school. Your passport to all that Pingry has to offer is your willingness to jump right in and get involved, so we invite and welcome your support through volunteering, attending events, philanthropy, and simply showing your Pingry pride!

Thank you for trusting Pingry with the privilege of educating your child. We want them to be happy. We want to help them become the best version of themselves. And our collective hope is that your family will enjoy a lifelong relationship with our incredible school.

Here’s to a great year!

PHILANTHROPY AT PINGRY

Why Does Pingry Need to Raise Money ?

The Pingry Fund is essential to the life of the School. It provides 6% of the School’s operating revenue, helping address immediate needs while supporting long-term priorities. This critical funding enables Pingry to deliver the wellrounded, high-quality education that prepares students for success.

Does Pingry Have a Fundraising Gala?

No. Pingry does not host fundraising galas or special events to raise money. Instead, the School relies on annual gifts from parents, alumni, faculty, staff, grandparents, and friends to The Pingry Fund to support the exceptional programs, people, and experiences that define a Pingry education.

How Much Should I Give Each Year?

Every gift matters. We ask each family to give as generously as they are able. The amount is less important than your participation—your involvement sends a powerful message of support for Pingry’s mission.

Why Is Parent Participation So Important?

High parent participation reflects strong community support and reinforces confidence in our mission. It also plays a key role in attracting foundations and corporate matching gifts, which often consider participation rates when awarding funding.

The Pingry Fund, our annual giving program, runs from July 1 to June 30 and plays a vital role in supporting the School’s annual operating budget. Gifts to the Fund are put to work immediately to benefit students, faculty, and programs during the current school year.

The true cost of a Pingry education exceeds the price of tuition. Gifts to The Pingry Fund help bridge that gap, allowing the School to uphold its commitment to academic excellence. This is only possible with the support of the entire Pingry community, every year.

RING THE BELL FOR THE PINGRY FUND

Ring the Bell marks the official kickoff of The Pingry Fund each fall. This year, on October 22 and 23, the entire Pingry community will come together to support the people, programs, and experiences that make Pingry extraordinary.

We ask every member of the community to make their best gift during Ring the Bell and help launch the giving year with momentum and purpose.

Your participation—at any level—sends a powerful message of support for our students, faculty, and mission.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Admissions Volunteers

Join us in welcoming prospective families to Pingry!

The Enrollment Management Office partners with current parents to serve as ambassadors during key moments in the admissions and enrollment process. Volunteers help at events such as Open Houses, weekly applicant receptions, Accepted Student Days, and more. Your perspective as a current Pingry parent is incredibly valuable to families exploring our community and learning about the student experience. Volunteer commitments are flexible, ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and opportunities are available throughout the school year.

Interested in volunteering or have questions?

Please contact Frederique (Freddy) Schachter ’96, P’27, ’30, ’33 at fschachter@pingry.org.

The Pingry School Parents’ Association (PSPA) pingry.org/pspa

As the official parent/guardian organization of Pingry, the Pingry School Parents’ Association (PSPA) is dedicated to fostering involvement and building a strong sense of belonging within the School community.

All parents and guardians of current students are automatically members of the PSPA.

The PSPA plans and hosts a variety of its own events and also plays an active role in supporting many of the School’s signature events throughout the school year. Whether you’re looking to meet other families, support your child’s experience, or give back to the Pingry community, we have plenty of volunteer opportunities to choose from, including: Pingry Parent

Socials, Friday Night Lights, Faculty and Staff Appreciation Events, MLK All-School Day of Service, Big Blue Pride, Lower School Book Fair, and so much more!

PINGRY FUND PARENT COMMITTEE

Parent Volunteer Committee members for each Grade play a vital role in supporting Pingry’s efforts to encourage parent giving. These dedicated volunteers serve as an essential bridge between the School and fellow parents, sharing Pingry’s goals and needs while highlighting the importance of parent giving.

Our volunteers enjoy many opportunities to meet other parents, become better acquainted with their children’s classmates, and experience life at Pingry.

Key responsibilities include contacting a small number of families and encouraging them to join you in making a gift, promoting Ring the Bell—our annual Pingry Fund kick-off— and thanking families for their gifts.

If you are interested in becoming a Pingry Fund Volunteer, please contact Margaret von der Linden at 908-6475555 Ext. 1299

Please join us for our annual Pingry Fund volunteer kick-off reception on September 10, 6:30–8:30 p.m.
