Stellar lineup for Stewart Park Festival Desmond Devoy desmond.devoy@metroland.com

Community – Increased government funding has allowed the Stewart Park Festival to expand its programming. The festival received a technical grant to improve its website, through the Ontario government’s cultural development fund, to the tune of $11,000. Celebrate Ontario and the Ontario Arts Council kicked in the remaining funding, for an increase of $42,375. “That has really made a

difference in what we can do here,” said festival manager Sandy Irvin, during an interview in town hall office last week. “Because we have more funding… we now can live up to those expectations.” One of those raised expectations is attracting more families to the festival, so the kids’ activities’ tent should be a big draw, which will feature a finger puppet workshop. “We are hoping that more families will come.” See STEWART page P4

Engine tune-up Community – The Middleville Museum and Agricultural Society hosted a successful Heritage Day on Friday, July 5 with a variety of old-fashioned farm equipment, games and venders on site. The United Church held a ham and beans supper to cap an entertaining day. Pictured, Ken Mason fires up a 2hp 1929 motor, with no carburetor. He only purchased the rig about two months ago and said he wanted to take part in Heritage Day as he lives nearby. More photos inside. REALTOR OF THE WEEK
