The event, organized by Earth AI in partnership with Strathmore University, aimed to harness the power of artificial intelligence to come up with new solutions to combat climate change and its effects on the environment.

One of the highlights of the hackathon was the address by Steve Bell, the credit manager of Barclays Bank, who emphasized the importance of using technology to address climate change and create a more sustainable future Bell highlighted the role that financial institutions can play in supporting green initiatives and investing in renewable energy projects He also stressed the need for collaboration between the public and private sectors to achieve meaningful progress in the fight against climate change.

Participants in the hackathon were tasked with developing innovative products and solutions using generative AI technology to address specific climate challenges. From mapping deforestation patterns to predicting droughts and floods, the projects presented at the hackathon showcased the potential of AI to revolutionize the way we approach environmental issues.
